Why so much Big Bang Theory hate?

I liked seasons 2 & 3, but after that, the show became "Smart Friends." Also, I found that over time, nerd culture just became a punchline; the earlier seasons at least tried to embrace nerd culture, but then you would have Penny answer a question by saying either "Star Wars?" or "Star Trek?" and the canned laughter kicks in. Also, FYI, most of the canned laughter you hear on TV was recorded in the 1950s and 1960s, and most of the recorded people are now dead, so think of that when you're watching BBT, and you hear that laughter echoing from the graveyard.
Yeah was going to post this myself

I was never a proper fan it had its moments but a few seasons in the nerds became the joke rather than the "normal" people it lost it's way after that

Yes the show is dumb and I don't watch it. But it had a net positive impact on how my friends interacted with me (more respectful and understanding), being the nerd of the group.
I'd say it is a good thing it exists.

In early 2000s I had a group of friends who would meet every Friday night at a comic shop, and a lot of the show’s situations were similar. XD
That's funny ! What are the odds ?? XD

In early 2000s i had a group of friends who discovered the world around us and everything we experienced was but an illusion, and we actually live in small pods in a Machine dominated world where they use us as batteries.
They also used to throw gigantic raves in underground caves, that were a lot of fun...
Let me see what i can find one of my old vhs from that time... There it is :

It was initially good but went downhill when they all got married and had lives. I guess it was a natural character progression, but it also killed the show's very premise.

Because of the erroneous and derogatory idea that they give to gamers and intelligent people... And It don't achieve the quality that Two and a half men had... But I don't hate it....

The one I do hate with all my soul is FRIENDS.

The internet hates a lot of stuff that is popular.
I personally liked it, mainly for Kaley

(been watching her since 8 Simple Rules)
I generally found it mostly funny when the guys did their thing like in the earlier seasons.
But when Amy & Bernadette became regulars I think it lost focus, the guys was still funny but yeah the focus shifted.
But.... Penny

Based on the premise of the internet hating EVERYTHING I for one came in expecting a flat earth-esque debate on the merits and demerits of the actual big bang but based on these GIFS (returns after 3 minutes) I can’t say my time was truly wasted?

It brought balance to the portrayal of "Nerds" in pop culture that we were subjected to in the 80's and 90's.

Personally, it's still in my queue as a go to for watching while falling asleep. Still get a good chuckle every now and then.

My wife thinks it's hilarious -- but having a normie wife is good, folks, so I'm proud of that

I think the first season was kind of original, and the characters (particularly Sheldon) hadn't narrowed so much yet or settled into their personas, so they had a little more complexity. Every season after that just seemed so much worse, and I hated all those later characters like Sheldon's girlfriend.

IT Crowd was funnier in every way.

this is true, that's one of our shared favorite shows
