It definitely ties into CT in some really clever, but really CRYPTIC, ways. The CT connections don't happen until far into the game. From what I can tell, many people who played through all of Cross still don't get how it fits into Trigger, but it was all in there if you really take to time to understand it.ZombieSupaStar said:is there anywhere I can read up on how much of CT is in CC? I honsetly was offput by about the whole game in CC (i think i quit at like some...ghost ship? it was shortly after sneaking into some guys villa if I remember correctly, im guessing I was still early on though?) its been like 10 years since I played it I should throw it back in my ps3 (I still have it along with unplayed suikoden 2 :lol )
Yeah that was pretty obscure and I wouldn't have gotten that without GameFAQs. To get the color combination right, you had to pay attention to some random background in the last dungeon... (something like that) they don't tell you to pay attention, the last battle is a long time later, and you don't go back to that locationfortified_concept said:These morons ruined the fucking game for me by not including an ending if you didn't do these fucking colour combinations (or something, I don't really remember). Great game nevertheless. But fuck you devs.
This is a problem with a lot of games actually (most games IMO); the normal enemies are so damn easy that you don't use the features of the game that developers wanted you to use, and then you go into the final boss with no fucking idea of what to do; if the enemies where harder and they made you use the color things, then the final boss fight wouldn't have been a problem.fortified_concept said:These morons ruined the fucking game for me by not including an ending if you didn't do these fucking colour combinations (or something, I don't really remember). That is really a subjective opinion. Both games are great, and both are very different.Dead said:Better than Chrono Trigger just about sums it up
No,BocoDragon said:I also loved the ending with the live action scenes. I swear I've never heard anyone say anything positive about it, but I thought it was beautiful. Yeah, I said it.
Sure, but in the nature of these stories, there were always alternate timelines- including our own timeline.Schala was absorbed into Lavos and was ultimately destroyed along with it.... That's sweet, dammit!Schala/Kid lives on in our world, along with Serge, and in this reality they can be together
I believe it was something like howBocoDragon said:The dialogue of theI know my memory is vague on this, but I believe the game was vague itself"ghost children" was something about Serge having led them to their fate... something to do with the split timelines or whatever? (this is my 10 year old memory now ) I always interpreted that as Chrono and crew not being "dead", but having been written out of history, but presumably restored after Serge's actions?

did they ever say that
guile is magus? I remember when CC came out it was like well in radical dreamers he was, but since it wasnt out in america he technically isnt him, and then post CT DS it might be him now? which of course doesnt matter since CC was made in a time when he WASNT supposed to be him lol. In my old high school jrpg loving what if days, I always thought if he had done a "keyser soze" type reveal with the magus theme slowly starting to play then fucking up everything hardcore, would have been SO awesome :lol
It's not that there's too many characters, it's that none of them are very distinct/worth having versus the others.SatelliteOfLove said:I will never ever ever ever understand the "TOO MANY CHARACTERS, BIG FLAW!" spiel. Every other critique is rational and understandable.
Really? Because that's one of the few complaints Im surprised anyone would argue. Each one of the characters was optional, much of their dialogue was actually generic and would be placed into the mouth of whoever was in your party (only their "accent" would change), and there were tons of them.SatelliteOfLove said:I will never ever ever ever understand the "TOO MANY CHARACTERS, BIG FLAW!" spiel. People aren't complainin just because of a large cast.. They're complaing about a large interchangable - and therefore unimportant - cast. How can any indovidual character matter at all if his actions could have been performed by any of the other characters? And due to the nature of that interchangability, the actual roles that characters play have little substance to the overall plot.
Oh yes... you are correct.ItWasMeantToBe19 said:No,But I believe the live-action sequences were more supposed to be a thematic thing instead of actually being part of the story. But all the same, I really liked the ending too. The song that plays during it is one of my favorites from the OST.that was the point of using the Chrono Cross against the Time Devourer. The Chrono Cross freed Schala and completely eradicated Lavos, and then Kid and Schala merged together, in addition to fusing the Home and Another dimensions. Then time was rewound to the day Serge crossed over to the Another world (the first day of the game), except it was a new dimension fused together from the two and everybody sans Serge and Schala/Kid forgot the events of the game.

Oh come on, CC enchanced the Chrono universe.B.K. said:Horrible game. It completely ruined the Chrono universe. I never was a fan of the soundtrack either. Other than the few Chrono Trigger remixes, I thought the soundtrack was Mitsuda's weakest so far.
