There's something interesting here about always being in the spotlight, in front of cameras, under scrutiny.

they live in an echo chamber, a little bubble detached from reality where people tell them it's a good idea and they believe it, and then after the fact the same people will affirm that they look great now.
Obviously these people aren't saying these things out of the goodness of their hearts, they are just following what they think the audience wants to see and thus will make them the most money.
It's not entirely untrue, sex does sell after all, but probably not to the extent they believe it does.

The worst thing is when these celebs lie about, when it's plainly obvious there's been a sudden change, only sporadically will one just come out and say they did, or even say they regret doing it, like courtney cox.
