How tf is this update not on the ps4 version?
I'm pretty sure that was unofficially? revealed like two years ago now.Grove Street Games = Dead?
Sony bought them for $300,000,000 actually.Grove Street Games = Dead?
As reported by the poster on Era, the update has removed the Grove Street Games logo from the splash screen. Yikes.
All they had to do was take the PC originals and add some mods:
Pokemon keeps selling too. Fanbase is where it's at. No need for quality anymore. The worst thing about this is that the remaster still sold well enough thanks to the GTA brand. Absolute disgrace for a company with infinite money and tons of resources to handle this in-house.
They had this at launch three years ago, the only somewhat positive part of those versionsDid they ever add checkpoints? I'd maybe play them but I don't wanna have to drive back to the mission and start again every time I get killed
Technically shouldn’t the PS5 Pro Upscaling for PS4 games improve these even further? Not sure I want to be the guinea pig to test it though considering how bad the initial ports were unless it goes on sale.Any way for us physical PS4 bros to get a free upgrade to PS5 yet? That's another feature I'd like.
Well he had to plat them because it was before Xbox had achievements. Duh.
If even just to have a downloadable copy of the original GTA Trilogy in some form, yes, it's good to have them.Did I luck out by getting these games when they were still available as PS2 classics on PSN?
I never looked but I heard those got pulled down when they released this uh..."remaster".
Nope. They are cunts! They are the perfect example of a studio who knows their product is top tier and have no shame in profiting multiple times off the same product because consumers are fucking stupid! It's partially our fault, we keep paying! Can we have a patch for RDR2 you shites?

Edit: too harsh to drop the C bomb even though they are
They did, the controls are an absolute abomination though. I have them but couldn’t possibly play them for more than 10-15 minutes. They don’t hold up well gameplay wise.Did I luck out by getting these games when they were still available as PS2 classics on PSN?

Rockstar is such a piece of shit company i can't get over the fact that they won't patch RDR2. Disgusting! Can we have a patch for RDR2 you shites?

Never forget.
Even if it is only a filter, it makes objects pop out instead of blending into the background and adds atmosphere. The new lighting looks better than classic lighting to me, which essentially looks like a filter over the entire image. The rest of the changes are good.
I installed it (and can confirm no disc upgrade still). I'm going to try it soon.Technically shouldn’t the PS5 Pro Upscaling for PS4 games improve these even further? Not sure I want to be the guinea pig to test it though considering how bad the initial ports were unless it goes on sale.
Your persona here is so different from how you portray yourself on your vids and it craks me up everytim
I'm never going to see that RDR2 remaster am i. Maybe in 2030...
If a low latency SD OLED monitor existed you could just play GTA and every other PS2 game via PS2 with a HDD.I have been playing an emulated version of San Andreas on my PC through PCX2. I have the game set to 4K upscaling and have been using a 60fps patch. The game still looks absolutely fine and Rockstars attention to detail is still seen even way back when. It's been a joy to go through the game with such clarity and higher frames. That's all this game needs imo. Maybe the draw distance could be better but I accept it because I know I'm playing an old game.
I'd be more interested to see what GTA San Andreas remade for PS2 now would look like.I also agree a simply res/fps bump to the PS2 originals would have been much cheaper for them and better for the fans as it would have retained the artstyle.
You can emulate the CRT phosphor mask on 4K HDR screens, making all 240p / 480p games look amazing. I have never seen PS2 games look so sharp and detailed at native resolution, not even on my real SD CRT. The thing is standard CRT SD TV blurs the image too much, to the point you can barely read anything in the san andreas minimap. CRT phosphor masks on OLED HDR screen will look more comparable to PVM / CRT monitors, so you get sharper image without pixelation. If you however really want that extra SD CRT blur you can still get a similar result by tweaking the CRT phosphor mask settings. If a low latency SD OLED monitor existed you could just play GTA and every other PS2 game via PS2 with a HDD.
Bringing a modern SD display to market would be the most disruptive thing to happen to gaming in a while.
DF doing side-by-side PS5 @4k vs PS2 @SD and 20 year old PS2 GTA "just looks better".

All Sony has to do is add EE+GS combo chips to a PS5 and reopen PS2 as a digital-only platform.
Rockstar has 8.5GB of DVD space and PS2 GTA SA's ISO is only 4.5GB.
The second PS2 version of SA has destructible fire hydrants and it seems likely that Rockstar might have other things that they would've liked to have done.
The whole lineup of Rockstar's PS2 games could be reworked to add some things without taking away from what makes the games great, DualSense being the most obvious upgrade.
Sony needs to make an ultra low latency OLED TV/montior that works with the PS2 at its native resolution and obsoletes the CRT once and for all.You can emulate the CRT phosphor mask on 4K HDR screens, making all 240p / 480p games look amazing. I have never seen PS2 games look so sharp and detailed at native resolution, not even on my real SD CRT.
Did you test it?I installed it (and can confirm no disc upgrade still). I'm going to try it soon.
I did. It's a heck of a huge improvement. I was have a blast playing through GTA 3 again. This is finally out of beta!Did you test it?
Bro come join us in the real world, yea it sucks but it's all we got.All Sony has to do is add EE+GS combo chips to a PS5 and reopen PS2 as a digital-only platform.
I wonder how much it would cost to build a modern EE+GS chip in 5 nm process? I guess it should be pretty cheap. I would definitely buy the PS5 only for that.Bro come join us in the real world, yea it sucks but it's all we got.
I agree with your criticisms. Driving physics is not as good and driving cameras are not as good.this trilogy still needs some work.
PS4 patch dropped a little late, but it's live now.How tf is this update not on the ps4 version?
