Crysis 3 Open Beta starting Jan 29th

Why does the face model look worse than Crysis 1. I feel like Crytek is just phoning this game in

I really liked Skyline in Crysis2's MP I loved the shit out of the air stomp on that map.

So those that played the alpha did it utilize matchmaking? If so was it better/more stable than C2's?

Not sure if it's been pointed out yet, but Amazon recently added a 20 dollar promotion to pre-orders of the console versions. 59.99 for the game, 20 off a future purchase.

Is it me or does the 360 version completely lacks motion blur?

3's blur is more subtle than the others and I can't see Crytek releasing a game without it anymore. It's one of their trademark effects. It's even on when they're just looking around in a free camera in editors.

I watched a little bit when Ryan was playing Crash Site, and he doesn't have a great grip on how to use the suit powers. After all the time I spent in Crysis 2 multiplayer, it was hard to watch a player less used to the game than me.

Game looks real good, though. Logical evolution from Crysis 2. I'm excited for the beta to open up.

nope. won't even start the game

Errrrr that sucks, 360 version it is then. I enjoyed the hell out of Crysis 2 MP on console so I would only expect good things from the next installment.

EDIT: I ran my dxdiag and got good news...plus I'll be upgrading my memory to 8gb total by the release so I'm excited.

From what i got from this awful streaming.
- cloth physics are
- IQ looks really good
- Runs extremely smooth
- anisotropic filtering is in

It's not cinematic on console? They optimized the fuck out of it then. Very impressive if true.

Seeing how smooth that Xbox gameplay was, I'm feeling a bit hopeful that the PC one will be smoother than the last beta test...

I had constant 60fps in Alpha on GTX 560. Very High setting for Object and Water was bugged on that map on alpha.
I wouldnt worry about C3 performance at all.

Ps. There was motion blur in Xbox 360 version.

I don't want to put a dent in your excitement but DXDiag will always show DirectX 11 on Windows 7 and 8 regardless of what graphics-card you have from what I know :(

That DirectX Info there is merely a remain from Windows 95-XP where you still could and had to manually update DirectX so you knew what version you are currently on.

To be sure download GPU-Z from here: http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/2198/TechPowerUp_GPU-Z_v0.6.7.html

It's a little tool that shows every possible info from your graphics-card including the supported DirectX and Shader level :)

Airport looks like a fun map. Looks like a tightened up Crysis 2 and that's all I was hoping for (lets just hope they fix the fucking netcode). I hope they have quite a few more weapons, though. I've seen a couple new ones, but they really needed double Crysis 2's arsenal. The lighting looks a lot more toned down in comparison to Crysis 2 as well, in a good way. The new shield break animation looks really satisfying; it looks like chunks of shield just pop off the guy when you do it.

Crysis 3 has a Skyline remake.

It's shown in a couple of the module preview clips in the beta. Skyline really was the best map of Crysis 2. I can't wait to play it.

You can see it from around 7:35 to 7:55 in this video:

Because of stream quality, but You can spot it in this footage [around 1:50]

I don't think that's the xbox version. I'ts probably the PC version, played with an xbox controller.

The framerate is definitely better than in the Crysis 2 beta on 360. IQ is also way more polished.

This suprise me to be honest. And I like the water effects.

It does seem to be missing some neat subtle effects that were present in Crysis 2. Things like motion blur, and the slight blurriness of the weapon near the edge of the screen.

All this talk of Skyline made me nostalgic for C2's MP(360) just played a few games...god their netcode is horrible.

I had a really fun time with the MP of C2 for a rather short period of time. The horrendous netcode along with the poor decision to put the DLC maps in a separate hopper and not integrate them into the regular map rotation is what drove me away.

I'm leery of C3's MP because of this, but considering C2 was Crytek's first foray into console online I'm hopeful they've learned from their past failures.

Can't wait to play the beta!

Yes, the motion blur of Crysis 2 is gone. It's also absent in the PC version I see.

I wonder why Crytek removed it.

just watched. Definitely 360 play on that ign stream.

PC version definitely has motion blur... also the 260 version just seems to have its weight toned down. It is still there.

You can disable the camera motion blur right?

On PC? No, maybe through ini. You can tone it down though, there is low/medium/high settings for Motion Blur, at least was in Alpha.

I cant watch shit on IGN site, i'm downloading that footage with 20kb/s...

Ok manage to buffer it. Yeah, i dont see motion blur, it can still be there, but if is, its really subtle, but nothing like low setting on PC.

But damn, framerate is smooth, except few heavy situation, it was solid.

Dynamic anisotropic is in definitely in, max 4x.

Don't do this. Windows 7 comes with DX 11, but your card isn't a DX11 card. The game will not run.
Even if it did you will not get playable framerates. 8GB memory will not help.

I just can't stand camera based motion blur in any game. It's like the biggest offense against videogames.

All right gonna pre order on Origin. Still want to stress my GTX 580 if it is possible. But i think i will need a GTX680 at least to go beyond. I hope that the MP is better then in Crysis 2. That one was real garbage even with dedicated servers. Also the login was just to stupid. Login with Gamespy + CD Key i mean wtf..that is just to lame.
