Cyberpunk 2077, 007, Hogwarts Legacy, Hades 2, Street Fighter 6, Elden Ring, Final Fantasy VII Intergrade and More are coming to Nintendo Switch 2

....it works for me. Some of those games... only just got of beta lol. So if you're a fan of finished games...Nintendo is a good place to be.

From the 4k trailer. SF6 lookin' rough. Low/lowest preset for sure. Eager for an actual analysis of these games/trailers.

that's great. fortnite with lumen and nanite actually is quite demanding
if this gets dlss 4 it will be game changer

Another thought

Star Wars outlaws requires RT hardware (correction there's software RT fallback, but RT is required)

I would be surprised they put a shit load of efforts into something that is not present in any other versions, lighting an open world game from full RT → raster would be a lot of effort.

star wars outlaws is demanding but I think it runs on gtx 1000 series? I think it has a non ray tracing option as well

All that footage ran like absolute dogwater. Games like Cyberpunk and Elden Ring are going to be a disaster on this thing.
That opening scene in elder ring where it shows limgrave looked so bad on the switch. It looked devoid of assets

It runs a software fallback but you cannot get rid of ray tracing completely in the game. Peoples who hacked it away make the game look utterly bizarre. But yea, it means also that it "runs" on steam deck or a pascal GPU, but terribly so even at low settings.

And that's considering Steam deck actually has AMD's RDNA 2 RT block, but not even sure it is being used with the software RT to be honest.

Avatar also had software ray-tracing fallback.

Both of these games ran on software RT for current gen consoles. RT hardware was for the more advanced PC options with DXDI or other more demanding effects.

Star wars outlaws running on steam deck above... Looks nowhere near as good as Switch 2 footage if that is captured from the console. That's very positive. Steam deck is equivalent to base PS4 Tflops wise. Like I said many times, Switch 2 is looking a lot more capable and with modern feature sets from Ampere that were not even ideas back with PS4 base released.

of course I'm with you on that no worries
star wars outlaws looked fantastic there, I hope it is captured from the console

That's a great start. Keeps kids from growing out of the platform and (starts to) give ps/xbox players a choice again.

nice.
I don't expect any of this to play better than Portal
Portal plays whatever PS5 plays. If Switch 2 can't run at the same level as PS5, Portal will automatically "play better".

Edit:

Correction, Switch 2 has HDR and 120hz.

Ah yes... Hogwarts Legacy, 80 euros... *sniff* *sniff*, is that a Steam sale I smell? Or maybe even... a key from a third-party reseller? Oh... 15 bucks... so affordable..

I can't believe they dared putting back WWE 2K after abandoning the Switch due to the absolue trash version of WWE 2K18

of course. Portal got the whole power of ps5/pro behind it. I never used one but depending on the lag on home wifi, it can be better than local play at lower fps/res.
I would get one but it's a filthy lcd.... not even hdr... maybe some day. My ps5 is connected to router with a cable, so I am set up perfectly for it

ppl talking shit about how alot of those games running like trash on ps5 are gonna praise how smooth will run on switch 2 :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Is this available on Xbox?! Has it been announced before?!

Edited: ok, looks like it was the first announcement. And I'm sure it will come to the other platforms.

I have a steam deck and would buy many of these games for the Switch 2 instead on release. Battery life will likely be significantly better, DLSS implementation is possible, and built in mouse controls are a draw to me.
Battery life is worse than the steam deck lcd. On Nintendo site, it's says 2-6.5 hours. Looks to be worse than the og switch.

Why SF6 when they could put Tekken?

I tend to be skeptical of insiders, but I think some of the same ones who called games that showed up in this Direct have said that Tekken is coming.

Seems like most third parties were limited to one announcement for this Direct, and Bandai (probably wisely) went with Elden Ring.
