Cyberpunk 2077 Switch 2 offscreen gameplay footage(clearest so far)

Dev word is evidence.

There's no evidence either way. Where is your proof that ROI didn't play a role? Nothing in the statement says it didn't. He just highlighted one aspect (technical challenges)
We know that PL is significantly more demanding than regular Cyberpunk, and sees big dips during traversal. We also know that PS4 barely ran Cyberpunk stably even after all the optimization, and traversal was a significant weakness due to the hard drive and CPU. Hence, it stands to reason that CDPR would have had to make further downgrades to get PL running stably, and given that, it's reasonable to think that's not a road they wanted to go down after all the criticism they received for the base game.

Have they shown anyone running the game with the joycon using gyro or mouse controls?
Hey, I was browsing reddit and saw this AMA from someone that attended the event:

Some answers he gave to people asking the same:

I played in both joystick mouse and mouse mode at 120fps. The joystick mode was nice for going around but what really highlighted the 120fps was the mouse mode ! It felt very smooth in that mode and I think I'm considering playing this game on my desktop instead of my tv just for that alone.
Q: How does the mouse feel in your hand? Is it big enough?,
A:
Surprisingly good ! The joy con are bigger than the og one so it felt really nice in my hands ! The L and R buttons are larger too so it plays nicely. I think my favorite experience with the mouse controls was in the new Mario party mini games ! There is one when you have to grab a little toad and carry him through an electrical maze it's really fun

Regarding of "how it plays?":
Basically the same as on ps5 and Xbox. The devs told us that we could play in mouse mode too at launch but we couldn't try it.

It's too early to judge. It all depends on the settings. Good if they're comparable to pc low or medium, bad if they're even lower than that.

Looks decent, but hard to really judge off screen. I'll wait for DF and other benchmarks to really gauge it, but from what I'm seeing it looks the be pretty decent. Really concerned about image quality on this. I feel like the game will be blurry upon playing it on the Switch 2, even in Docked mode. But the framerate at least seems pretty stable at the very least, which is nice. Again, benchmarks will tell the real story when they are run.

one big issue on other consoles is that their 30fps modes have pretty high input lag.
this could be an even bigger issue when using the mouse mode

Look, I was thinking of this... What are the chances?:

could be, but reflex does come with a performance penalty by design.
reflex will limit your GPU utilisation to prevent stalling and to sync the CPU and GPU.

this means to hit a steady 30fps in Cyberpunk for example, the GPU would need to be able to run it at around 34 or 35 fps in stressful scenarios without reflex, so that the GPU load limitation that Reflex forces doesn't lead to framedrops.

it could also be that the Switch 2 simply has a really low latency system wide vsync that developers can easily implement.
Sony's is demonstrably awful as we have seen with people replacing Bloodborne's uneven vsync with Sony's system level one, which dramatically increases input lag.
the Steam Deck's is also pretty bad as I have come to notice when I tried using it in the past.

it's actually surprising how much of an impact different vsync implementations have on input lag.
if I lock Khazan to 30fps using the game's own Vsync the input lag is pretty low... when I use the Steam Deck's sidebar to enforce a 30fps vsync the input lag is insanely high

Every time I start thinking about playing phantom liberty because they say "it's not coming to ps5 pro because we've stopped all work on cyberpunk 1" they announce that was a lie and drop an update that they have indeed still been working on it 🤦‍♂️…which makes me think, well they lied again, I'll wait.

I'd rather see this game run on a Switch 2 and possibly get more players than not have it running. I came to CP late last year after ignoring it for a long time. It turned out to be a great game. I hope more people play it and enjoy.

Switch 2 seem to have some weird parallels with WiiU. Both of these platforms were superior in their performance numbers than their predecessor (Wii/Switch1) and they both had a 3rd party games output push during their launch period. WiiU was forgotten within a year.

WiiU was a beta test for the the Switch. It was a day and night departure from the previous console.

Cause nobody bought the console

As someone currently playing it with path tracing at 1440p, this doesn't look substantially worse than that. Throw in an HDR screen for under $500 and it's not so bad to have this as an 'on the go' option.

They haven't implemented DLSS yet according to the devs and will do so closer to launch. So performance stands to improve even more.
I am really curious about how DLSS would end up looking/performing running with only ~10 TOPs of ML resources. Maybe we will learn new things about the matter.

Oh come on lol. Switch 2 is nothing like WiiU. Switch 2 may not hit Switch numbers, but it's not going to be forgotten, and it's not going to be a bomb. The concept is very easy to understand, unlike wiiU, it's fully backward compatible, and the power level is enough for really excellent ports like this. Baldurs gate 3, kingdom come deliverance 2, etc are inevitable, and we haven't seen the full year of Nintendo lineup yet.
