I literally live right around the corner from the Ridglea theater and have never went. It was closed for a time but I actually thing it has opened again. It's easy to overlook when you go to Bass Hall all the time.

Fogo is the bomb. Me and a bunch if friends went to the Addison location when we graduated from college. I love Dallas and hope to stay even though we came over from Ireland. El Fenix is my fave tex-mex restaurant. Anything they serve with their grilled sweet onions is amazing.
I haven't been to Hurricane Harbor since it was known as Wet'n Wild. I was always tense at water parks though since I don't like heights.

So I'm the suburban pleb in this thread, but I'll recommend St. Pete's Dancing Marlin down in Deep Ellum. Me and a friend went there and had some great modern American food; I was reminded of the Snuffers on Greenville which closed down recently (how I wish I could recommend that place...dem cheese fries). If any of you ever travel up to McKinney and need/want to eat, try the San Miguel Grill (reliable family joint near Highway 5) for Tex-Mex and Cavalli's for Neapolitan pizza. Best theaters are the two Angelikas (which have better programming than they used to a year ago) and the Richardson Drafthouse, which feels pretty tame compared to other locations.

I'm so glad I no longer have a commute and work from home. Driving from Lewisville to downtown was a pain in the ass. Now I have to deal with 121 and service road construction thanks to Nebraska Furniture Mart but oh well.

Breakfast doesn't usually come up much in food threads, but Oldwest Cafe has some of the best breakfast stuff I've ever had. It's always packed but if you can manage to get in, soooo gooood.

Yup, Cocky's has some amazing wings and the all you can eat is killer. Not a fish guy, so I don't partake in this, but they also do all you can eat catfish on Sundays. Not sure what times, but if you like catfish you might check it out.
Also, a burger place I really enjoy and is right down the street from me here in Mansfield is Hideout Burger. They have a lot of variety, and if you like spicy, they got you covered with the Ghost Burger. Has a special sauce with ghost peppers. I haven't gotten to that point yet... best I can do is the Hideout Burger which has Habanero sauce and a billion jalapenos lol.

That is going to be a huge boon for Texas. Not a huge fan of Toyota but it's good to see them coming here.
The train robber is a steal of a deal as well.

If any of you like Italian food, I would suggest a place called Vito's Pizza Restaurant in Irving off of Esters. I went there yesterday cause a friend of mine suggested it and it was delicious and reasonably priced.

Check out E-bar. (funny name for a Mexican food place). Dallas isn't amazing for Mexican food, but I found this pretty good.

It'll also be great on A-Kon weekend when folks need to find alternative parking. I had to park there for both A-Kon and Quakecon last year, fun.
Meh. Think spring carnival with a big bazaar of shops with handmade art stuff. It's better for families than single folk, as it has a bunch of stuff for kids to do. Stages with music, rides, games, fair food, etc.

I didn't enjoy it much. The park area itself is nice, but the festival - meh.

The magnolia area (near south Fort Worth) has some pretty good spots and puts on art shows every so often. Also there is first Friday on the green which is a free outdoor show with local bands and whatnot. Also, I was talking with another gaffer of having a pot luck or making our own dishes at a restaurant I quasi work at. We could have a private luncheon.

My wife and I ended up going. Was worthless, nothing of quality or interest to be found. The most enthusiasm was found at the duck racing booth...
On the plus side we got to see Ft worth and quickly decided we didn't like it, lol. We will stick to the Dallas side.
