So, this game is no tactical ā€old schoolā€ fps but instead a hero shooter-like large scale fps? I mea with powers (ā€abilitiesā€) and such?
Its a Battlefield/DMZ clone.

Its pretty good at what it does. Ton of fun with loads of potential.

Bares no resemblance to the IP mind.

It has a bit of everything.

At Gamescom 2024, we got some time with the upcoming FPS that is taking on Battlefield and Escape From Tarkov; Delta Force: Hawk Ops. The core of the Havoc Warfare game mode is extremely similar to Battlefield 2042, but the operators and gadgets of Delta Force: Hawks Ops changes up the game, adding abilities and tools similar to those found in Rainbow Six: Siege to the chaos of combat.

Bizarre how similar this looks to Battlefield 2042. Even the little kill notifications and kill cams are exactly the same. No surprise this is coming from a Chinese studio.

I'm in this for the SP campaign (hope it's good). The MP plays well (tried the alpha) but fk me the disgusting bright UI elements and use of operators is far from a tactical shooter and from it's root. God I hate modern fps.

At least the game does not suck like Battlefield 2042 and the alpha runs more polished than the retail version of Battlefield.

The developers don't seem to be as incompetent and out of touch as those at DICE.

Game also has a Scoreboard.šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚šŸ‘

It may not be Delta Force but it looks like something I'd try playing. The contenders to replace the hole OW left haven't exactly grabbed me lately. Wouldn't be the worst outcome to end up with OW-Battlefield (this) along with OW-moba (new Valve title). I hope at least one ends up being great.

6 min video and definitely smells like f2p ammo and pay to win ammo.
Jury is out on it for me. The beta was decent but I'm definitely cautious.

They did state somewhere no pay to win but who knows. Nothing lost to find out as its FTP.

Cheaters is the biggest worry for me on this one.

Is this beta for consoles too?
No, early next year I think.

Edit: Yeah next year:

Delta Force: Hawk Ops will be available via Tencent's official browser, Steam, and the Epic Games Store when it launches into PC open beta on 5th December. PlayStation, Xbox, and mobile releases are all expected at some point in "Q1" 2025.

It was pretty good what I played. Nothing ground breaking or original but scratched the DMZ and Battlefield itch.

If its any consolation I'm waiting for Pad support before I dive back in myself.
Isnā€™t it gonna also have more traditional modes like tdm etc

Yeah it has those also, and a single player campaign. The DMZ is a completely different mode to the Battlefield one on different maps, at least it was like that when I played the Alpha.

It was pretty impressive for a free to play game. The economy needed some kinks ironing out for the extraction mode, but it was pretty polished and ran well.

Did the gunplay feel polished and big budget more towards cod like? Or did it feel more like the other free 2 play games like xdefiant, warface etc

I don't play M+K often enough these day to form an opinion if I'm honest, but i never thought "this feels shit" if you know what I mean.

This is from the alpha, but gives you a good idea of how it plays.

Im pretty picky when it comes to MP games. I don't play most of them but as a BF fan this game has that same type of appeal for me, and I enjoyed the closed alpha/beta so im very much looking forward to the open one.

Delta Force series is back, except it's not handled by the same studio or even part of the same genre. Instead of a tactical shooter, it's now a free-to-play competitive shooter a la Battlefield, mixed with an extraction shooter mode akin to Escape from Tarkov.

It's not the most inspired title by a long shot, especially when you look at the Operators. However, it's also not bad. Warfare is your 32v32 mode with various maps, each offering different sectors, vehicles to pilot, and roles to cover. The action is fast-paced and intense, especially as territory control moves back and forth, though the maps are run-of-the-mill.

Operations is the extraction shooter mode but offers a PvE Raid with support for up to three players. It's also mechanically decent, liberally borrowing from Tarkov but offering some fun gameplay. Overall, Delta Force may seem out of line with previous titles, but there is a free-to-play vision here for something unique, even if it's nothing you haven't seen before.
