Not that I care too much about my eternal characters but I was assuming you would start at level 60. With the level squish you go back to 50 and start earning again from that level until you hit 60 to unlock paragon points. They probably mentioned this in one of the camp fires but I didn't watch all of those.

Why can't I start the expansion? It says it is unlocked but I can't choose spiritborn. This an issue everywhere? Playing on console

Holy shit. You have to manage game and addons then tick vessel of hatred on xsx

How does this work then? I have a Barb, Necro and Rogue all of which I got bored of max level i got to was 35 with the rogue.

Never finished the main campaign should I restart with new class and do the campaign?

That's what I'm doing despite having beat it several times. The cutscene with Inarius is neat with the Spiritborn considering it zooms into Inarius'
spear given he uses the same weapon type.

Yeah I was gonna level my rogue from 90 to 100 in the weekend but read up on how characters above level 50 are transformed down to 50 and given paragon levels based on your collective XP (I think it is collective as well as the new paragon level being account wide).

Ive levelled two characters so far, a Rogue at 90 and a Sorcerer at 100, and logging in now Im starting at lvl 50 / paragon 201 with the XP from those. Paragon board unlocks at 60, and there are 330 points total to level up. And one new skill for each class, so I dont mind levelling up the last 10 levels really.

Wait, are they letting us use old characters in the seasonal content now? I only started a spiritborn and did not investigate old characters.

Bug, quit and relaunch.
it probably kicked you out and thinks you don't own the game anymore, happened to me at level 20.
Had to log out and log back in to fix it.

Yep Reaction GIF

I wasn't really sure about this new class but kinda fuckin OP fun, and just got back to Kurast Docks.. and yaaay I just realized it was probably my favorite act in D2 blasting and farming till dawn while listening to Pantera and now I've got a black panther mount to top it :messenger_tears_of_joy:
I already enjoyed the game from launch and was pretty sure it will shape up, but now I'm getting the feels this is really is going to be a fun ride come another expansion or more with the game evolving along the way

I played base diablo 4 just fine. I have a 3070 ti, 16 gb of ram, and an old ryzen 5 3600x. but the game ran just fine at 1440p everything on high, 140 fps.

Well, I can't play Vessel of Hatred, the game crashes 99% of the time on the character select screen, one time I could login and moved the character for about 5 steps and then crash.

Aaaan I just found out that Blizzard won't refund Vessel of Hatred thanks to the cosmetic stuff they "gift" with the preorder.

So yeah... fuck Blizzard.

As someone that played D3 as Monk and Barbarian, the Spiritborn class is right up my alley. I have only played a tiny of this expansion so far, but it feels great and looks great too.

played up till saving nyrelle and have all mercenaries unlocked, level 44 atm.
went for mostly gorilla spiritborn, with the jaguar dodge and the eagle gather skills, also using an aspect that increases my attack speed so I'm almost always at 8-10 resolve and thus always unstoppable, feels pretty good not having to worry about any crowd control.

I do feel the progression isn't as clear atm, the world levels were pretty easy to follow, and by now I would've had plenty of legendary and unique items, but with vessel of hatred I haven't had a single unique drop yet and the legendaries are pretty scarce too, and the new difficulty levels don't really tell you when you can move up, just some vague description about how many legendaries you have...
Considering one of the bosses gave me a pretty tough time already, I feel like moving up the difficulty will just result in a bunch of one shots and won't be fun, but the weak loot game isn't that fun either.

Game keeps checking for expansion license on PS5 when loading areas, and fails lots of times. Not sure if it's the same on PC. Almost always happens when changing difficulty in town.
I have to log out and back in, in game, so it refreshes the license.
What a mess lol. Mercenary stops working when this happens, and even though you can continue playing as Spiritborn, you are locked out of expansion areas.

HOTFIX 1 - October 8, 2024 - 2.0.2

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed an issue where players on console could randomly lose access to Vessel of Hatred content until they logged out and back in.
  • Various performance and stability improvements.
  • Console players still running into the issue should restart their game once but shouldn’t need to do this after that restart.

Just looking at the forums and it seemed to be fixed as of an hour ago.

Luckily I have not seen a single bug as far as I can tell. Well except the spinning symbol thing on the loading screen turned pink for some reason. Everything else has been good for me on PC.

Played 4 hours on pc, everything was fine luckily. Seems like a good expansion, the vibe is there, the loot is there, now can't wait to check coop activities. Before expansion diablo was the loneliest online coop game I've ever played 😅

I haven't had any crashes on PS5 but the client is kind of buggy and I have had to manually quit/reload to get follower XP and skill tooltips to show up. Also the paragon board sucks with glyphs now, it doesn't show the range of the glyph when you hover over it. I have also had to quit/reload the client to get some quests unbugged. Other than that, I am enjoying the expansion so far.

This is the same license bug that I had. Should be fixed.
I've seen only small issues like out of sync sound effects in cutscenes on my laptop (30 fps limit disabled), and other sound effects not playing like when charging with the horse. Bit other than that it's ok.

Oh man I’m liking what I’m seeing but geez this thing is a buggy mess.

It is? I'm about 8-9 hours of playtime and I think nearing the end of the campaign, but I haven't encountered a bug (PC- BNet). I've had a couple lag spikes and rubberbanding, but that's been it.

same (bnet). the only bug i noticed were a few cinematics had their sound delayed/desynced by like 1 second.

Only able to play for an hour or so, hoping to dig in more the next few days into the weekend.

I don't care for the Spiritborn's male voice at all, sounds like he's from a different game entirely or something.

Everytime I leave nahantu the game thinks I haven’t purchased the expansion so I have to relog with a new character then log back with the spiritwalker to fix.

I haven't had this issue personally but I have only entered Nahantu on horse one time...the other times I am using the waypoints.

Are you traveling on foot/horse when this happens to you?

I’m digging the Spiritborn. I’m a sucker for running poison AOE classes (my D3 Witch Doctor says hello).

However, is anyone else rather disappointed in this season’s rewards and overall “hook”? There’s nothing in this season pass that interests me whatsoever except for the treasure portal and I’m not getting an entire premium pass for that.

Since everything this season is built around the expansion, it feels less interesting than just playing my old Eternal Sorc, Necro, or Druid.

I dunno, I might just play the expansion with my Eternal lightning Sorc to experience the story and get a feel for the mercenaries and hold off leveling a Spiritborn to max until next season when, hopefully, it has better rewards and a different seasonal loop to keep me interested.

I activate it at the start of every season and I just get it as I play. There are a few neat pieces (like the portal) but mostly I just like collect it and never use it.

Does this expansion add anything of note in terms of long term goals/progression? I love the game but it just never had as much reason to keep playing as D3

Will depend on what you want in the end game. In the past the end game has been about grinding ubers for top tier drops, I don't think that is going to change but they have added more ways to collect those items.

Co-Op dungeons are making a debut this season, level change for characters (60 is now max level), stat squish for items (damage numbers are no longer huge....we will see), changed the difficulty path through the game (Torment is back...World Tiers are gone).

I mean, it’s not just the rewards. After Season 4 and 5, the Zakarum Remnants system in Season 6 feels, I dunno, kinda tacked on. At least what I’ve been able to play of it. I don’t really feel like I’d be missing anything of consequence if I didn’t have access to it because the big draw this season is clearly the expansion itself.

Finished the expansion storyline today and I was quite underwhelmed by it. I really liked the base game's story, but this was just bunch of nonsense for the most part to stretch it out.
Also, in the end
after all the build up and hype, you don't even fight Mephisto, but some beefed up wolf projection of him. Then the storyline reverts back to "Oh no, Mephisto might soon be returning" which was were we left off at the end of the base D4's storyline..

Still need to get to higher level and difficulties to get a proper grasp of all the changes and additions added to the end game.

CTD once an hour I'd say. I keep having to restart quests. Still loving the Spiritborn but I hope there are more patches coming.
