Over on Ree (I apologize in advance for browsing their next gen threads) I've seen a few posters believing the Series X was comparable to a 2080 Ti!

It went from 2070-2080 to 2080S and more recently the coup de grace above. I mean talk about delusion.

So what's the focus? RTX or gpu power in general?
Seems like we're only getting part of the information to fulfill an agenda.

What agenda? An AMD graphics processor can be great at one thing and mediocre at another. We're only getting that information now because the games exist to highlight it.

It is with RT.

Yes nVidia RT hardware will make AMD high-end RT hardware compare mid-end in nVifia lineup.

This comparison was in reference to ray tracing.

Glad to see it.

Nvidia RT hardware is quite impressive. 3060 Ti launching soon shall be a nice increase over the 2060S too.

*in games with raytracing

Raytracing performance and quality will be the weak point of the consoles this gen. Which is obvious given how demanding it is and given the limited budget of these consoles.

They still offer great performance for the price and we should appreciate it.

Mod of War Mod of War Bill O'Rights Bill O'Rights Can you change this console warring post to the "RTX2060s outperforms both next-gen consoles in WD: Legions"?. Because both consoles are on RDNA2 architecture running level below RT support of nVidia Turing and Ampere architecture. This type of conversation is not really productive.
we don't yet have proof that watch dogs on ps5 runs at 1440p and a lower resolution.

It's highly likely seeing as how the settings are identical but we don't how how aggressive the dynamic scaling is. Spiderman on ps5 is native 4k with the same 1080p checkerboard reflections

But we know that 2600s is going to better, because it has Turing architecture and in the video it can be seen that it runs better de-noiser and also in higher framerate without needing to scale the resolution. And since the config of both consoles is similar, there is no doubt that 2600s can do better in traditional RT which is here today. In future it might improve due to different technics, but so far what I saying holds the truth.

Let's hope devs don't feel like they have to cram RT in there just for the bulletpoint. In certain games it makes sense (Spider-Man etc), but when it's not really needed I'd rather the power be used for other stuff.

makes zero sense.
2080 gears 5 one game 2060 super another?

Yeah it's sort of misleading, it's comparing this game with these raytracing features and it seems like RT is the limiting factor. Shame.

Makes me feel better about my RTX 2070 though.

Love how you guys conveniently left out the PS5 there, Alex specified that the PS5 RT codes in the settings are the exact same as Series X's, so this scenario would be applicable there as well.

But of course, you can't spin up console warring that way so 🤷‍♂️

WDL's RT on PS5 is likely virtually identical to Series X's because the source code for the RT in the PC version (that clearly delineate different platforms) are exactly the same as Series X's. That's actual code, right there in plain sight (if you scavenge around to uncover it).

Nvidia RTX cards have dedicated silicon just for RT, this is not the case with
RDNA2 GPUs. John Linneman said the the XSX is outperforming the RTX 2080 in
rasterization performance but in RT it will do like the 2060S

Where did he say the xbox "outperforms" a 2080 ? The old video where they tested Gears 5 it was slightly below a regular 2080. Now it outperforms it ?

A 2060 Super is like £350+ alone.
RT on consoles will likely improve over time (S-M:MM is launch and looks great).

No you don't understand, see. We must constantly be reminded of the same thing over and over while also forgetting to list 2060 Super outperforming PS5 in RT in WDL because the RT code/settings for the PS5 version is exactly the same as Series X's.

Because, y'know, info and stuffz.

What the F, where from? I need a new card :messenger_weary: was eyeing the 2060 for £280 but if I can get better for a little more I'll take it lol.
I got it from Best Buy sale. Maybe the 2XXX series weren’t selling so well at the time or something. Keep in mind, while people were crying that the 2XXX wasn’t worth it this reduced sales of the product and retailers wanted to offload stock. So even when something is mediocre like the 2XXX there’s always opportunity. I don’t think that will be the case for now because the demand for new shit is really high right now.

Hey, it’s this thread again - only with a worse OP, click bait title, and dripping with console-war juices.

So which is it ? Richard says its below a 2080. Lineman tweets its faster ?

Quite simple really, Coalition did benchmark in Gears 5:

- slighty slower than 2080 -This is normal rasterization performance of the GPU

But with RT in the picture:

- GPU performs slower than 2060 Super

Nvidia has superior RT solution.

XSX is running the same settings as the PS5 so we know they held back the XSX version for parity.

Does it also drop resolution to 1440p for parity too?
