Do you love snow?

Fuck it. Snow is only good for winter sport. It causes buses to arrive late, reduces parking space, makes the ground slippery, etc.

It might look pretty initially but then it looks like this crap:

I love the fact i get to stay in New York for a week for Christmas and i will occasionally have a lot of snow. Live in Florida now and i miss the snow from growing up in NY. But i couldnt stand living in it.

Me when I moved to the chicago area:

"omg snow!!!!"

Me a month later shoveling snow:

"fuck this shit!"

I love the atmosphere snow brings, but I hate driving, walking and shoveling through it. So I hope for a moderate amount that doesn't cause too much of a hassle this year.

I've only seen snow twice in my life, here in Louisiana. Both times, it only lasted for a few hours and then it was gone. So I don't haven't been around it enough to know if I like it or not.

Where are you in Louisiana? I seem to be the only gaffer in Lafayette.

Snow is what I look forward to every winter. It's a shame we get so little of it in Vancouver. Except for that one time 3 years ago, when we had snow on the ground for an entire month. My car was buried for weeks. It was glorious.

Growing up in Texas, snow looks like fun on tv and in the children's books. Then I moved to the Seattle area and snow lost its luster when you have to shovel it and drive on it..

If people want a more positive answer the question should be "do you like the concept of snow" because then most people say yes.

I live in Cleveland where most of us just bitch about snow. I like it though. Except shoveling. Fuck shoveling. But it's good exercise at least, so fuck it but not rough. Try to enjoy it.
My attitude is, if you live in a northern state east of the Mississippi, you best learn to love snow or move somewhere else.

I did move somewhere else years ago in part because I didn't like the snow. Then I realized that I miss the snow and moved back. Well, the snow wasn't a major factor at all, really, but more of a "AND there's snow again" kind of bonus reason to move back close to home.

The past year I've actually been contemplating moving some place considerably warmer in about 5 years. And honestly, the one thing that's holding me back is the snow. My family has more or less said they'd move so I wouldn't have to give that up. But I keep thinking to myself, "yeah but I'd miss the winters". Haha.

Unfortunately, like last winter, it seems we're on track for yet another warm winter this year. It was friggin' 45° today. When I was a kid by this time of year we were knee deep in snow.
I can't recall the last time it snowed on Christmas either. I feel like I've been robbed Whenever there's no snow on Christmas!

Looooove snow. One of the things I hate about living in LA.

Cute winter clothes, warm snuggly house, snow falling outside—heaven!

I love that I can drive less than 3 hours to visit it and have fun, then drive home and not have to worry about it anymore

Gimme a foot of snow in the fields and I am a happy man. Off roading in my truck is a riot. I spent a fortune on the lift and tires, I'll be damned if they don't get used.

Edit: Minnesota man born and raised, so this year is the first time in a few where snow has been worth anything.

I don't even know what snow is. Here in West Texas I have gotten less than 9 inches of rainfall and 5 inches of snow for the entirety of 2012.

Fuck Snow, bring on Global warming. Anyone who actually likes this shit has nothing to do when it does snow.

In small doses it's great. Two or three inches of snow a few times a year and it feels like winter. We haven't had a good snow here in my slice of Ohio in a few years. Maybe a dusting or two but not enough to take my kids sled riding. If I don't get to take them sled riding it's not winter.

I'm blame climate change. Please winter come back this year.

Where I used to live, it would snow maybe three times a year and maybe settle for a day once a year or so. Kinda perfect to be honest.

I like it a lot more now that I live in an apartment. Still, I bought my DS (original) with money from shoveling snow back when I was broke.

This year all the snow here melted within a day or two. Then we got ice that stuck around, so now the rest of winter will be ruined by a slippery frozen layer at the bottom of every patch of snow.

Nope, lived in the US long enough to hate that shit. I always have to rant to any of my Brazilian friends who say they wish they knew how snow was like. It's terrible damn it!

I always like a light snow fall, very pretty.

It's so very pretty to walk around when it's snowing if you're at an empty neighborhood. Makes you appreciate the snow a lot more.

Other than that snow is kinda shitty if you're commuting anywhere.

snow is pretty, relaxing, and serene - when it's falling.

but man, fuck driving in the stuff. especially on busy roads. i live in the middle of mn, you'd think that people would get used to the idea of slowing down when the roads are icy and clogged with snow. no, it almost seems like they're more bold because they're used to it.

I live in socal, snow is only 1 hour away in the mountains. I love snow as much as I love surf.. I go and surf or I go and snowboard when I feel like it. Otherwise is 80 degress 300 days of the year.
Sure.

I love snow (in moderation).

Seattle literally shuts down whenever there's a decent amount of snow because we're just not built for it. The hills/lack of preparation generally make for one massive unplanned holiday for most people and it's awesome.

Of course, if this goes any longer than 2 days it becomes a nightmare, but snowboarding down the city streets is hard to beat.

I love it, but the amount of heart attacks that woman seem to get around some areas make me not like it all that much as a result of what can happen. I also don't like driving in snow, there's to many area's around were I have to drive were ice is just to thick.

Edit: Snowball fights make everything worth it still. I'll tell you this though I'm not falling down to make a snow angel for anyone ever again.

Yes i do, i wish it snowed at sea level here.
Only happen very rarely here (once every 20 years on average)

The mountain overlooking the city normally gets plenty of snow in Winter though.

Remember that year (2008, I think) where the city shut down for two weeks? Gee, was that fun.

(Pretty, though.)

I love snow. I just hate that they clean the streets by 3-4 in the morning and wake me up with that horrible scraping noise :|

I do love snow. Love it so much!

It's fun.

All the women are running around in their cute snow outfits, dudes are flying out into the street because they don't know how to work the snowblower. Kids are creating stuff/having snowball fights/avoiding the clearly overmatched snowblower guy.

Driving can suck, but I'm going with love on this one. Mark it down.

Love it.

Loved especially the winter of 1963 when the snow was about 4 ft deep (and I was a bit less than 3ft tall) and my Dad carved out an awesome maze in the back garden.

Love the silence. Love the crunchy sound of walking on fresh snow. Love driving on it even. Awesome.

I absolutely love snow... But I was around 10 the last time I lived in an area that got a decent amount of snow in winter. I currently live in the northern part of New Zealand and I haven't seen a single snowflake since I got here 5 years ago... It makes me sad.

I know what ya mean Hypron, I'm in Auckland and I've never seen snow. Except for the measly few flakes last year. And some snow on the ground when I went to Tongariro.

It sounds kinda lame and inconvenient though, despite the romanticism.

I take winter over summer everyday.

Edit: But it shouldn't be too cold. I didn't really enjoy the food on our christmas market this year, because it got cold very fast.

Some of you are mega grumps. Yeah, getting to work is 10% more difficult, but the rest of the day is 30% more fun because of snow.
