I think late 2025 is realistic.
People say we should have seen more by now if it was coming out next year, but I think when you are GTA you don't really need to bombard people with trailers and footage so far in advance.
If we look at what they did for GTAV on the Rockstar Youtube page:
- They had the first reveal trailer in Nov 2011 (a bit under 2 years before launch). Similar to the one we got for 6, where they focus on the vibe by showcasing in engine environments,
- The next trailer was a character highlight focusing on Michael, Trevor and Franklin uploaded in April of 2013 (5 months before release)
- The actual proper gameplay reveal trailer with the woman describing the game and mechanics was uploaded in July of 2013 (2 months before release)

I sure hope so but have no idea. I voted yes in the hope that it releases this year. They signalled to their shareholders that they're confident but who knows what's going on behind the scenes.
In a way I'm more interested in them patching RDR2 on consoles. Fucking travesty it's still stuck at 30fps.

The games been in development for nearly 10 years, i'd like to think that this radio silence from Rockstar is them gearing up for a huge 2025 press tour with new trailer, inc gameplay trailer, screenshots etc.
But this is Rockstar and their previous form with GTA V and RDR2 means GTA VI will be delayed at least until 2026.

And the release window of Autumn 2025 still remains in tact ahead of the latest earnings call. A release said: "With many exciting new titles coming in Fiscal 2026 - including GTA 6 in the Fall, Borderlands 4and Mafia: The Old Country - we expect to create long-term value for our shareholders."...
They said this at an earnings call. Unless something has changed recently that threw them off track and we get an update at a later earnings call the lack of footage and gameplay reveals aren't an indication of anything. GTA doesn't need constant coverage for exposure.

As much as I want it ASAP, I'm thinking it's 2026. Here is a history of Rockstar game delays, according to Grok:
- Grand Theft Auto IV: Originally set for an October 2007 release, it was delayed to April 2008
- Grand Theft Auto V: Was initially planned for a Spring 2013 launch but was pushed back to September 2013.
- Red Dead Redemption: Scheduled for an April 2010 release, it saw a delay to May 2010.
- Red Dead Redemption 2: Announced for a Fall 2017 release, it was delayed first to Spring 2018 and then to October 2018.
- L.A. Noire: This game was delayed from its expected October 2005 release to May 2011.
- Max Payne 3: Although not listed in the web results, posts on X confirm it was delayed by about two months.
- Bully: Initially announced for an October 2005 release, it was delayed to October 2006.
- Midnight Club: Los Angeles: Was released a week later than initially planned
