Does the PS5 slim expandable SSD need a heatsink?

Thanks to the Black Friday deals, I managed to get a PS5 slim for 309 GBP. It's been a great experience with blazingly fast loading speeds and buttery smooth gameplay. Since I sit 5 ft away from a 40" 4K TV, I do not notice the lack of resolution and fine details and I play all games in performance mode. The only issue I am facing right now is the lack of storage space. 1 TB is not enough for me and I would like to bolster it with a 2 TB SSD. I have settled on the Samsung 990 evo 2 TB, but this model does not come with a heatsink. I was wondering if a heatsink-less SSD works fine with a PS5 or I should buy an SSD with a heatsink. I haven't had any issue with heatsink-less SSDs in my laptop or steam deck, so I do not know why it is such a big deal for the PS5.

I remember watching some tests back then and the results were that just playing games makes no difference. The problems arise when you're transfering data to the SSD where speeds can really lower due to overheating, but it's not like most people do that often. 90% of the times you will be fine even without. Downloading games is also technically writing data, but even with a 1GB connection it's not fast enough to cause issues.
