DOOM: The Dark Ages is id Software's dark fantasy/sci-fi single-player, action FPS prequel to the critically acclaimed DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal. Coming later this year, DOOM: The Dark Ages delivers the searing combat and over-the-top visuals of the incomparable DOOM franchise, powered by the latest idTech engine. In this third installment of the modern DOOM series, players will step into the blood-stained boots of the DOOM Slayer, in this never-before-seen dark and sinister medieval war against Hell.

On a GeForce RTX 50 Series PC or laptop you can experience DOOM: The Dark Ages enhanced with DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction, and immersive Path Tracing. Get a sneak peek here:

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
You can't even time stamp it if the thread is just for that one game over the rest? Gonna make other threads for the other games glimpsed/for Nvidia's presentation with the same embed?

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Can't wait to play this! Still no release date, right? Hope it doesn't get delayed.

Who is going to play a super fast paced and precise shooter like DOOM with FrameGen? I know i won't.
Indy PT with FG is one thing, but DOOM... cmon :D

Here is a new Developer Direct that talks about Combat, Exploration, and Story.

Combat features the usual arsenal of crazy cool guns. But there are also 3 added melee aspects: Shield Saw, Iron Flail, and Spiked Mace. These are all one-button functions that are contextual based on situation. For example, at distance you can throw the shield like Captain America. Up close, it can block and deflect and parry attacks. I was skeptical, but seeing it in action has me intrigued and open-minded.

I haven't finished the Exploration and Story parts yet.

Hopefully one day they will make an actual doom game with guns and no jumping. They’re working backwards, though. 2016 had guns with jumping. Then eternal had even more jumping. Now this one doesn’t have fukin guns its like stakeguns and shit. Whatever bro. You let me know when you’re ready to make an actual doom game.

I just smoked a joint and cannot stop fixating on how fucking ugly and funny that HUD looks. It's like some shit from a Sci-Fi Channel show in the early 2000s when the dickhead stepson is busted playing The Videogames. Bro you're making Dooooom, the HUD king, just look at the old shit how did this happen lol

I hope this game runs well on the PS5 Pro. Feel sorry for anyone with a base PS5, let alone the Xbox Series X and S (especially the latter), as I know these ray-tracing effects are going to tank performance.
On Series S (no less), it will be locked 60 and likely close to native 1080p. Even with RT.

Machine Games did it with Indiana Jones.

Path tracing? Ugh. No wonder they're already promising the game is gonna run like dogshit on anything less than a 5080.
This is id tech - legitimately the best optimised engine in the industry bar none. The game requires ray tracing hardware, yes, but it doesn't require path tracing. Game will look and run great on everything it runs on - id tech always does.

I mean, I hope you're right, but it's not me saying it, it's Bethesda's official system requirements: you're looking at 1080p / low settings (!!) on anything less than a 3080.

Sorry, I think you've missed a step. You said the game was gonna "run like dogshit on anything less than a 5080." The game was designed to run at 1080p at 60FPS on an RTX2060. That's not exactly "dog shit". Considering id are clearly pushing tech here, getting full 60FPS on an RTX2060 in 2025 is actually pretty great.

The 5080 reference was obviously hyperbole, but the "dogshit" reference really wasn't; I would absolutely call low settings dogshit.

Also, if we're gonna be precise, a 2060 cannot run this game at all according to Bethesda. A 2060 Super is the bare minimum.
