Dragon Age: The Veilguard Launch Beats Jedi Survivor to Make It EA's Biggest Ever Single-Player Game on Steam

They are comparing it's numbers to Jedi Survivor and making out because it beat that it is succesful. But didn't Jedi Survivor launch exclusivley on other platforms first and only come to Steam at a later date? Meaning This game that launched on Steam should sell massivley more on steam launch at a MINIMUM?

Funny you are the one saying this. Jedi Survivor launched on Steam day one. And to be clear, I think Veilguard looks terrible, the dialogues are terrible and all this "modern" stuff feels completely out of place. I just don't see how are you better than the people you are criticizing when all it takes to verify this is literally one or two quick google searches.
 
Actually impressive. I'm expecting to see a lot more barves and low tier writing in games going forward.

Dragon's Dogma 2 peaked at around 230K.

Veilguard will almost certainly hit its all time peak on Sunday so we'll have to wait until then to get a fair comparison.

Most likely it'll be around half of what Dragons Dogma did. Which seems pretty lousy IMO

I do care about the obsession of this forum with it due to politics and culture wars mimicking the shitshow of Hogwarts, Stellar Blade and Concord on Era - and the obsession with sales. Makes me miss list wars.

I also do care that some of the obsession with the title comes from a complete intolerance of anything gay, queer, trans, lesbian, whatever. And that's just not cool and saddens me.

Concord was HUGE on youtube, same for DA. Thanks to woke stuff creators that are not normally interested in games cover both games.

I was kind of on board way back when, but now after playing 7 hours, I'm like "this is a pretty fucking good DA game".

I don't get the fight, and I bloody HATE forced bollox.
 
Its not like Outlaws is a paramater for sucess either. But I don't think its fair compare to one that launched later on PC? This one launched at same time as other plataforms.

Nice, really happy for BioWare. They needed a win!

EA took the bet, and I'm happy it's starting to pay off. Glad they are still doing a single-player-focused game. We all should be celebrating that.

And the game looks super cool, for sure will be something that I'll dig into in the early future.

Now let's get that Mass Effect game!

I get what your view point on that in general, but when it comes to this game specifically, isn't Dragon Age Veilguard doing a pisspoor job of handling these topics that are important to you and actively promoting the same culture wars you despise?

From what I've seen, it's all a bit cringe. It could be cool for teens struggling, though.

You can always not engage from the options they give? I'm unsure about that. I'll never play it. It's no Dustborn in its stupidity from the snippets.

It's made by a trans director. It's normal that it would be proud of trans identity and non-heteronormative ways of life. I don't think it's looking to enrage, trigger and divide. Dustborn was. This seems genuine in all its cringeness.
 
Was opening the Steam store today and got a add for this purple game. Saw the ignore button, pressed it and it went away, never to be seen again. Magic. Try that on a console.
 
The most newsworthy part about that whole headline is that Jedi Survivor apparently did pretty poorly on Steam

I can understand this as a perception, however...

BG3 is one of the gayest and homoerotic games ever made. Universal praise on here and everywhere.

So I don't really think it's that. It's how this game handles it and browbeats you like a toddler. Written like a tumblr or twitter exchange of Narcissist Personality Disorder. Parsed from Reee threads, really.
