This month celebrates the 30th anniversary (at least in PAL land) of the greatest 16-bit platformer of all…
Some things I absolutely love about this Treasure classic
- Art style, its jam packed with Japanese 90s charm, the stages and crazy enemy designs are gorgeous
- Level design, it just never gets boring, as soon as you’ve mastered an ability or level aspect it quickly moves onto something else
- Power-ups, Headdy can literally change his head when a power-up is collected for a few seconds enabling variety in the combat and navigation, there’s always options to these and they’re always in just the right place
- Soundtrack, I’ll let a couple of videos do the talking
Thankyou mum for getting me this wonderful surprise for Christmas 30 years ago
