Hudo I have the first one in my Steam Library, would you say its worth playing or should I just play something else when I get a 4X itch?

I also still need to play Old world which I got via humble choice and age of wonders 4 is still sitting in my wishlist.

Depends a bit on what you fancy. If you want a "Civ-like", you should go for Old World. If you want a bit more RPG and "role-play", as it were, and unique mechanics per faction, play Endless Legend.

I can't say a lot about Age of Wonders 4, unfortunately. The last Age of Wonders game I've played was Shadow Magic. And that game was essentially Master of Magic but better. And Master of Magic itself is Civilization but fantasy.

Cheers. Think I'll give endless legend a whirl then. 4X + deeper RPG mechanics sounds intriguing enough.
