I take that back. The one game I have played is Nioh. I would have never tried it otherwise, but I had heard good things AND it was free so I gave it a shot. And you know what? It's decent. In fact, it's very good as a free game.

the client/store isn’t as good as Steam but it aint terrible. It has improved a lot since it first came out and it keeps getting updates. People like to hate on Epic (I was one of them…) but Epic is Steams closest competitor right now. It’s the second best store/client on PC (imo).

Epic is my most used client these days. I have 7 games installed on Epic and 2 on Steam. If people want to stick with Steam then fine but I wish people would stop hating and at least try Epic. If you hate it at least you have tried it unlike most people it seems. I love Steam but competition is good and it’s weird to be a loyalist fanboy of a company.

I think so too. It's weird to be a anti fan of Epic because you're used to steam. But I hadn't used it since I had heard that its servers were unstable and that there were problems with archiving. I don't know if I still have those problems, but I already have a lot of games on it , so I thought I'd give them a try this Christmas

People are mad about the exclusive part. PC never had that much exclusive on 3rd party games. Epic introduced them to big games.

My games from epic is 136 now. I bought around 10-20 games. the rest is free.
My total ownership on all platform is 607 games. (epic/steam/playstation/xbox) + 483 from subscription (ps+,gamepass).
I havent bought any games lately.

  • Vampyr
  • Pathfinder: Kingmaker
  • Prey
  • (followed by 5 days of games which are new to EGS and are not yet in their database)

Can you share the source please? "Prey" fits the French site's description("free game on 25 december will be the best one").

Humankind or Second Extinction as they are in question mark! As SEX (Second EXtinction) was revealed a few hours ago maybe Humankind is not going to be appear.

Hopefully its not Prey as I already have it on Steam. Between repeats and bad games its been pretty dissapointing. But can't really complain since its free. I was looking forward to something like Dying Light being given away.

Also Vampyr is pretty much unplayable on PC. Always crashes at startup, tried Steam Version, Gamepass, and seven seas edition. All of them crash at the start screen. Hopefully the epic version does not have those issues.

Epic giveaways have been pretty lackluster these holidays. Lots of repeats and now a game that just does not run on PC (Vampyr) that thing keeps on crashing at startup every single time.

I played Vampyr on PC GamePass years ago. Might be a compatibility issue. Lately, PC games tend to run well for me. Many years ago, it was typical to spend hours and maybe days getting a game to work on PC. Messing with drivers, configuration files, changing settings, etc.

that's their strategy. honestly i hardly use steam much now. i have more games installed on Epic than Steam and with all these free games there's plenty more I still have to get through.

it's all about tempting people to use Epic and getting them to stay.

Apparently, this version of Prey is the GOTY edition that includes the Mooncrash DLC. Nice, since I already have this game on PS4 as well as Game Pass, but never picked that up.

Slightly bizarre that Microsoft is not putting anything on EGS, meanwhile Bethesta games are given away on there. But I'm not complaining.

Was thinking the same thing but these deals have probably been inked for months now. Probably another commitment Bethesda made before they were bought.

That's the word on the street. Also tracks with the "last few games will be new to the Epic Games Store" hint from earlier. The only game currently there is Rise.
