Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

Kinda sad to me that the monthly free EGS games have repeatedly outclassed Xbox GwG and PS+ monthly offerings that you have to pay for.

I havent spent a dime in EGS and have several dozen games ranging from decent to incredible. Questionable business strategies be damned, they've made their platform very enticing to engage with.

Anyone playing these games with a controller on a living room? If so, are you using big picture mode or something else?

I didn't get an alert for this week, luckily I saw this thread or I would have missed out.

I know there are people who like to say "I've downloaded but will never play" when it comes to these Epic games, but Football Manager has had a very good player figures:

People who can't keep up with their launchers should try gog galaxy. One client that shows all your game the same place.
I tried this. But then every so often updates were fucking up my games list and games couldnt launch from it. Also found it super confusing when you owned a game on pc and console. In the end i abandoned it. Until its improved more.

There's also SteamGridDBManager that can import installed games from other launchers to Steam and has a handy graphic picker to keep the library nice and pretty. Also useful for Steam Controller guys who anyone who likes the controller config stuff in general.

Thanks for this.

Wow that's nice. But what about updates etc?

Updates in what sense - the games themselves? What's added to Steam is just shortcuts with graphics to match ripped from the website, so updates are handled by their respective source launchers and stores. If you mean updates in the sense of adding new games, you'll have to run the program again and import those games. Basically similar to how GOG handles things, just more hands off but with better end rewards for some (Big Picture Mode, controllers, etc).

My epic library of free games is slowly getting to be the size of my paid for Steam library. A few more months and I'll have more games on Epic than Steam.
Epic really needs to have more sorting features. The store is at best 'Kludgy'

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!

How are these comparable? One is free forever if you redeem it, the other meant as a trial period or demo to attract actual consumers rather than have a billionaire be your one consumer for his PR. Guess they're not just getting paid per download but also by tweet. Until FM2021 doesn't sell as much because people expect it free.

Can't believe I missed the free GTA V and now I want it to test some mods, there's no chance I'm paying for that game though.

Football manager is highly recommended if you want to lose yourself for a few weeks.

Oh, you're right. I also redeemed at some point apparently.
Not that I care, since I already had it on Steam anyway, like most of their freebies so far.

Still, I redeem everything even if I don't play anything. You can never tell when it may turn out to be of some use.

FYI Here is Pikuniku for this week.

FYI I recommend that people play this game. It is like 3 hours long if that. I played it on game pass some time back and the game was just a fun little distraction that pushes a good message too. It is like a 6.5/10 if I were to review it but I did enjoy and recommend the game.

What "loads of launchers" besides Steam were there then? Please enlighten me
Well, there was the legendary EA Download Manager, where digital purchases, I shit you not, EXPIRED after something like a three/six months windows.
I'll let you imagine how popular it was.
Kenpachi is talking out of his ass again. Then again he's a weeb and a Bleach fan on top of that, so not sure what you were expecting.

GoG Galaxy client OFFICIALLY supports Epic games and through "community plugin" supports steam.

Every single mmo had there own launcher. They all ended moving to steam when they died out. PC was riddled with launchers before steam and after it. Also lots of single player games had there own online system with launcher attached towards it.

Inside GoG Galaxy client, click on the icon on the top left, select first item, in submenu, click on "connect platforms".

Thanks for your reply and apologies for not being clear.

Do you know how to import games from other launchers to Steam so as to use the gamepad functions from Steam? I had managed to import games from Epic launcher but the Steam gamepad support didnt work. Or maybe something else was the issue...

Usually importing the actual Epic launcher to steam gives you the controller support, though obviously you can't customize on a per game basis then

It's Thursday, so it must be time for ABZU and Rising Storm 2: Vietnam.

Those misers already gave away Abzu. :messenger_angry:
