Epic Store Free Games

Yes, it is a repeat. Also I already owned Kardboard Kings and SCARF on the Prime app, but now I guess I have them on Epic, too.

Maybe title should be Epic and Prime gaming free games.

The Prime Games ones I've been posting are just the ones that redeem to Epic Games, whereas when you claim it it adds to your Epic Games account library. Since this is an Epic Games thread, I haven't been posting the other Prime freebies that redeem either directly to Amazon Games app, to GoG, Legacy Games, or others.

Via Epic Store:
Moving Out (repeat)

Via Prime Gaming:
Morbid: The Seven Acolytes
Stasis: Bone Totem

Prime Gaming has Pumpkin Jack for GoG currently.

Anyone who is even remotely a fan of PS2/PSP era Action Platformers should give this a look. it's like a way easier version of Maximo meets MediEvil Resurrection.

Runs decent on the Steam Deck as well (60fps on low at 800p).

but if installed through the Heroic Launcher it needs to be set to GE Proton, and change the Windows version in the WineCFG settings to Windows 7. then upon launch select Direct X 11. otherwise the prerendered cutscenes will not play.

How comes Epic gives you free games all the time and even like that I just couldn't care less about that store?
Heroic launcher allows you to seamlessly integrate them with your steam library, and has it its own big picture like experience. If I can figure out (in windows) simple switching between the two without losing controller input then it will make Epic (and GOG and Amazon) viable stores for me, well for the free games anyway.

Honestly I think Epic is pretty good as far as launchers go. Probably the third best major one behind Steam and GOG. It's not bloated like the Xbox app is or absolute disasters like EA/Ubisoft/Rockstars launchers.
GOG and Epic are comparably terrible launchers. Steam is operating on such a higher level, they're barely the same category.

As much as I hate Ubisoft, Connect at least attempts to have gamepad support, which none of the lesser options do.

What if you could get 3+ year old PS5 games for free, but the PS5 system software reverts to a sub PS3 feature set? nobody would like this.

What exactly would I be missing? I basically just turn on my console and start playing a game, because thats whats consoles are good for. I dont pay for PS plus, so I dont have multiplayer or any other features anyway. And the store seems to be as shitty as ever, basically just an add banner with a search function.

I'd honestly take the 3+ year old games.
