Some DQ sales stats via GamesDataLibrary:

Retail launch sales of the Dragon Quest III remake in Japan are the 4th highest for a Dragon Quest remake.

It should be the biggest one with digital sales, which should be high due to supply constraints.

Biggest launch of 2024 and already it's best selling game

Gc7id1NXoAEnwu0

It's the second biggest third party launch on Nintendo Switch (13th overall) and the third biggest launch on PlayStation 5 yet.

It's also, by far, the biggest launch for one of these HD-2D games, about x3 of the combined launch of both Octopath games and Triangle Strategy.

I started to respect Japanese players even more, they have their priorities set correctly :messenger_grinning_squinting:

Of course, but the PS5 sales were low in Japan even before the price hike. Now they are even lower and not ok like some people are saying… They are far for being “good” or ok.
The PS5 is an expensive console even before the price hike. If the Switch was a similar price it's sales would also suffer greatly. PS5 for it's price is doing superbly in Japan especially when handheld and mobile are dominant.
