FF7 Rebirth director “pre-orders for FFVII REBIRTH on Steam are going well”

Not like this...

I hope they are actually going well and not "Please understand..." going well.

I'm doing my part

Should I get them for the PS5 Pro or is PC better? I heard Remake stutters a lot on PC. If that's the case, I'd rather with for PS5.

Does the PS5 version have a mod that can turn Tifa into a Christmas elf? No?

PC is obviously superior dude

I should point out that God of War Ragnarok is currently 6th on Steam's Top Sellers... and has a player count right now of 3k.

Rebirth is 11th.
Irrelevant. Ragnarok came out months ago and people are buying it because it's 20% off at the moment. They're not playing it right away.

No thanks, FFXVI was a horrible port.
Just tried the demo again and it ran flawlessly for me. Does it get worse later on?

You're right in that's why it's at #6 right now... but for $47 I can't imagine not playing it right away.

Maybe they finally have real expectations on how much the game would sell.

The magic of having 30% off on a 6 month old game instead of ff16 releasing a year after for 70€, of course people buy it then.

Why would they play it right away? It's the first time it's on sale, so people are grabbing it before it goes back up.

FF XVI wasn't 70 euros. It was like $45.

But isn't FF7 Rebirth much better than Intergrade?
By most accounts, and I'd say so. But you should definitely know what went on in Remake. You don't *have* to play it to do that, but I never recommend someone going their first round with a games story any other way than actually playing it.

I assume he means the lack of widescreen
You mean lack of ultrawide? Yeah, weird that it was advertised but still hasn't come. I think you can probably mod it, but since they didn't redo the cutscenes, it might have awkward elements out of camera.

Sounds about right.

Take out the Steam Deck and F2P games, and they've been consistently sitting around #4 to #7 in the global best sellers list on Steam over the past 4-5 days behind Path of Exile, Helldivers 2 and Cyberpunk 2077.

Yeah that's what I meant.

Well FFXVI has never been 70 Euros. It launched on Steam at 50 and aside from sales, it's remained at that price.

I don't care that the game runs fine for you. I am not giving my money to SE.

FFXVI runs flawlessly on my PC (4070), the issue isn't the performance, it's the game itself... It's not a Final Fantasy.

I don't know if they want to give more attention to the pre order but all Square Enix on my wishlist is on sale today. I'll do my part later on, once I have the time to play it (I haven't even did Remake yet).

Oh, yeah, I bought it and refunded it after 4 hours. 2 hours in the demo+just under 2 hours in game. Got bored out of my mind and returned it. However, performance wasn't the issue, so I was wondering if it gets worse further into the game.

Do i need to play the first part of the FF7 remake or can i jump into this one without problems?

Can you jump straight into Rebirth? Sure.

Without problems? Well, no… it's like watching The Two Towers without watching Fellowship of the Ring. Sure, it's still an incredible movie, but you'll miss some details regarding how Frodo started his Journey and why should you care about Gandalf's sacrifice in the first movie.

Rebirth is no Two Towers, but it's still a pretty fun game, and a lot of the chemistry between the characters builds from their dynamics in the first game. If you really want to try the 2nd part, why not try the first one first? It is in practice "disc one" of a bigger arching story. I'd argue part one and the DLC each have some of the best moments. Part two is great on its own, but when they selling a Twin Package, you can jump head in into the first game and appreciate what part two brings new to the table.

I have both platforms and Remake on both, most definitely going with the Steam version for Rebirth. Reason: mods
Go check what's available for Remake on nexus to see if it's something you're interested in.

DX12 is pretty bad. But running it in DX11 and then using DXVK helps, still traversal stutters.

The game deserved so much more sales that it got. Last thin I heard is that it crossed 4 million sometime around August. So it seems to have legs.

Good.

The game design in Rebirth is lightyears ahead of 16. It needs to be the blueprint for FF17. Square need to Knuckle down and stick to a formula and stop changing it every game. It not sustainable in this day and age

Square: Final Fantasy 7 rebirth did not meet our sales forcasted exectations of 100 million copies sold on day one and pre-orders. We will adjust for the final game. Instead we will continue to release small indie games that will fail. Please be excited.

Sarcasm. But sometimes Square puts out some really unrealistic sales forcasts and expectations for their games. when 99% of other studios would kill to have their sales and overall profits.
