What fighting games do you currently play, what are your all time favourites and why?
USFIV, BBCP, VF5FS, Skullgirls, DOA5U, though really I'll play just about anything at any given time. I play HF almost daily since we have 2 cabinets for it here at work.
My favorite... As much as I love VF5FS, I would probably Would say VF4 Evolution was bigger for me. I and my friends put a TON of time into it on PS2 and it's still fun, to this day.
What are your favorite mechanics from the current selection of fighting games and why? What are your least favorite and why?My favorite... I'll always be a lover of the parry system from SF3. It was simple yet added a lot of different strategies to the game. It's understandable why it has its naysayers, but I feel using it properly and appreciating it requires practice and understanding what it's not.
I'm not sure I really have a least favorite, as most of the time a unique mechanic in a game helps set it apart, even if it's something that can change a match like X-factor.
What got you into fighting games? Are there any other genre of games you play?I'm not sure I really have a least favorite, as most of the time a unique mechanic in a game helps set it apart, even if it's something that can change a match like X-factor.
I've been playing since SF2WW and grew up on a steady diet of that and NeoGeo fighters. I've spent more time than should be healthy playing KoF2000 and World Heroes 2, I think.
I play a lot of other games, mostly action games like Ninja Gaiden and the like. I've always been a huge fan of 2D platformers. I think the only genres I don't really play are sports, FPS or racing sims.

Ayane from DOA. something about her attitude and gameplay drew me in ever since she was a glorified clone of Kasumi in DOA1 on the PSone until she got her own moveset in DOA++ and DOA2.
Describe your style of play, and how do you play (local, online, etc.).
Glass cannon. I've been working on my footsies and patience since I started regularly playing HF here at work, so that's probably less so than it used to be. I just kind of stuck to using Zangief which has probably helped a lot in that regard, because you have to be patient with him in the old games. I try to play online when I can, but I play a lot offline because of HF.
What do you feel are your biggest strengths and weaknesses as a player?
My biggest strength is understanding a concept behind what I'm trying to do. My biggest weakness is executing that concept.
Best and worst moments in the your fighting game career?
Learning to play Virtua Fighter quickly was probably my "best" moment. My worst is probably flipping out while playing a game on an emulator because the controls were lagging and I was getting annihilated because of it. Admitting you had a problem is the first step to recovery, right?
What do you want from future fighting games?
A better focus on having balanced character types. I feel like everyone having a specific set of tools, even if they operate differently, keeps things a bit more fair so that having a bad matchup is less of an issue. VF is very much like this, because nobody has a bad wakeup game or defensive game, just some have tools beyond what everyone else has that make them good. A hypothetical tier list would end up being who has better tools rather than who has the tools to make a matchup better against certain characters.
Who should be on next week's GAF Player Spotlight?
