Fighting Games Weekly | March 3-9 | Edition Edition

You can only get so far when the name of your game is the reverse of that title

I do not know the details of their contract and I will not assume to know the details.

Regardless of that, I am highly doubtful the contract would REQUIRE Namco to make TKXSF. It's not like Capcom gave Namco funding to make this game and they failed their obligations. From my perspective, the contract simply gave them the rights to use SF characters without any sort of infringements happening. Assuming Namco never makes TKXSF, I doubt Capcom can or will take any legal action.
So they signed a license agreement they'll never use, on a project in active development, that they just won't put out? Yeah, I don't think that type of thing exists, especially in terms of licensing other properties.

SFxT was barely playable at launch as well
What?

Yo give it a couple weeks guys

It's only week 3 of course every match ends in time out

IDK this was pretty uncommon for my matches or matches with more offensive characters. Seeing how a good hit led to 60% plus combos. It didn't help that hardly anyone really took the time to LEARN how to properly play the game. Which led to week 1 gameplay stuff on streams for months.

I'm sorry you found it UNWATCHABLE but that's different from unplayable.

My mistake guys

Sorry for using hyperbolic statements as a form of humor on neogaf. I forgot how quick we are to condemn its use on this site in any context

After catching up on a lot of SCR, and feeling some hype for FR, I'm starting to get tempted into getting back into SFIV (or buying Guilty Gear AC+R for some reason). If I wanted to get back into the groove of things, would it be better to pick up AE on the cheap, or wait for Ultra?

Or I could just stick to playing Gundam Full Boost forever.

You can upgrade to Ultra from AE so it don't hurt to pick it up real cheap to practice in the interim

but as a fellow Gundam pilot my advice has to be just stick with Gundam until Xrd like me

If you can get AE for under $25, it's cheaper to do it that way.

Easiest way to get it on the cheap is wait for a sale on PC.

tk x sf.... its never gonna happen.
It could either be dead, or they're just trying to distance it as much as possible from SFxT.
SFxT was a PR disaster for Capcom.

I guess we'll find out at E3.

I'm interested to see what Capcom has been working on.
Besides mobile games lol!

Could every character even punish a forward roll in SF4?

I think delayed wakeup is pretty much the same thing. You have to make a correct read to get your oki

It's sorta the same thing, but the other character isn't moving from their current position which actually makes things a lot different.

It'd probably be best if you actually defined smooth, lol.

Faster dashing and overall movement, and the whole special charge cancel system. I mean the game is still clunky compared to say KoF, BBCP or Marvel. But it's def not as or more clunky than sf4.

It's not since the character moves when they roll forward or backwards.

Right but I mean the guessing game is similar. The whole point is to make vortex characters have to guess for their oki rather than it just being a guaranteed setup I thought.

I think delayed wakeup is a good compromise that sort of soft nerfs vortex without completely destroying that game plan entirely.

You can have rolls in a game, BBCP does it just fine. They just made it so you can be hit during wake up rolls

I'm not saying it doesn't work. I know BB does it

I just think it would be such a huge change to the game. Like imagine if they added rolls to GG and how that would affect certain characters

Only characters it would really hurt are probably anji and johnny.

Everyone else that relies on oki stuff has some pretty wide hitting stuff. Might have to rely on the corner a bit more but for the most part they would be fine.

I mean shit Makoto's set ups are basically the same exact thing as Millia's and she's one of the strongest corner characters in the game.

The guessing game isn't the same really since the character moves during the roll you can infer what they want to do based on their positioning. For example if they get knockdown in a corner they may want to roll out of it and it maybe wise for you to try and scout that out. Also that becomes a metagame "he knows that I want to roll out of the corner so I'll just wake up in place and let him sacrifice his positioning trying to get a hard read on a roll that's not coming." With delayed wake up it's just Rock Paper Scissors. Not to sound like I'm trashing it though

Fair enough. I've actually never really played a 2D game with wake up rolls that extensively so I'm probably speaking more from personal preference/what I'm used to than any actual convincing argument anyways.

What do those percentages even mean?

Shuma-Gorath - 56.4%

So that percentage of people, on eventhubs, who play on PS4, played Shuma at some stage.

Huh?

Its not who plays those characters its what people have listed in their profiles as played characters on Eventhubs.

Its pretty stupid even by EH standards. There's no point it as its not reflective of online or tournament Marvel 3.
