First PC Gameplay of Watch Dogs 2

It seems the pre-load should be live soon as Ubi added data depots to the game's Steam subs ~10 hours ago. Later today or some time tomorrow would be my guess.

I am pretty tired of hearing the games journalists based in San Fran talk about what parts of San Francisco are missing from WD2.

It. Doesn't. Matter. To. 99.99% of your audience. And even if you say, "I know this won't matter to people that don't live here..." that doesn't make it any better. If it doesn't matter to us, stop saying it. Jesus. How can they not realize this?

Yep. I've visited SF pretty regularly and I'm constantly impressed by how well it nails the landmarks and atmosphere (though some places have made me go "yeah it's never this sunny" hahaha). The little things maybe aren't perfect especially to someone living there but it sure is an impressive open world. I don't quite understand why anyone would really complain about it.

Hard to tell how it is because of the YouTube compression, hopefully Gamersyde will post normal quality vids soon

Can all Gameworks features be disabled, including volumetric smoke/fog? Or are some of those non-optional?

Undoubtedly. I think the only mandatory Gameworks effect in an Ubi game is the Apex-based cloth physics system that was patched into Black Flag (limited to sails, as far as I could tell).

Slightly off topic, but since I'm trying to play it right now: is it normal that the original runs like crap on AMD cards? I had read something about it if I'm not mistaken.

Yes (from the OT):

That's quite small, but I think the original was slightly larger than that.

Been checking some videos of the PC version and I think this game will run great and have no issues.

Tempted to just buy it now.

Edit: Well that was quick, must have my Paypal account info saved to my steam account, bought it and didn't need to sign in.

This game is using the new nvidia shadow technique, but will the regular PCSS be available too?

The original sans post-release DLC is 14.65GB, but, yeah, I also remembered it being much larger than it actually is (~20GB).

Possibly. Blam mentioned in the PC settings thread that there are two shadow quality beyond Ultra, which may be PCSS and HFTS.
