Football Manager 25 delayed to March 2025

The current season is basically over in March, what are they doing?

Hey at least they are adding the girls leagues nobody asked for and nobody will play, at the cost of being able to control national teams and other stuff, and having to delay the game hehe nice...

They may else cancel it and release a new one next November.
To be honest, sports games in general should not have a yearly release because they don't update the game all that much. We all know why they do, but it just comes out as basically the same game every year.

I haven't played one of these in over a decade because I used to get horribly addicted to it, but is that actually what they are doing?

Yes, this new FM is getting a new engine which should get better graphics, animations etc..
And SI Games thought it was the best moment to add all the womens and the leagues with all the effort that takes.
Seems they found out it was too much and they started removing stuff like being able to control national teams, they also removed some game modes that existed for a long time, and more.. but still it seems they didn't make it in time.
The FM 25's trailer was all about girls and casual players who could play in console etc for some reason, when 99% of players are the typical older PC gamer..
I've been playing every FM since uf, 1999 i think? when it wasn't called FM yet, and this one is looking really really bad sadly, i'll play because i got GP, otherway this would look like the first FM skip for me.
Well at least November is still looking very strong with PoE2, Stalker..

When will companies learn to not abandon their core audience/demographic at the expense 9f chasing and audience that are never going to be interested regardless of what they do?

It's not being released in March.
I actually don't think this will release at all. They'll probably skip this season and start afresh with FM26.

It’s daft they don’t release in August or September anyway - with updates over in April, you are basically buying a game that’s current for 5 months when they release end of November.

Just echoing my point of view. They have been completely phoning it in now for so many years and now they have to do some real work, it goes completely to shit.

Apparently, someone recently discovered that most of the player stats in the game (and there are loads of them) don’t actually do anything at all. Training seems to be equally pointless, touchline shouts make no difference whatsoever, and so on.
It’s got me thinking—games are often just smoke and mirrors, creating the illusion of something intricate or 'magical' happening behind the scenes when, in reality, it’s mostly randomness paired with a dull algorithm here and there.
Good on the devs to find out this racket, selling the same old crap year after year, dressing it as a full new game.
