So we have no runners from midfield which keeps both Wilshere and Henderson within themselves. Rooney is dropping a little deep to get involved in the build up which leads to nobody in the box for the final ball. The formation is a mess.

What top-class players have Holland got at the moment aside from Robben?

Normally I'd say Blind in the back is solid. Sneijder and Strootman in the middle should be good. RVP and Robben (Huntelaar on the bench) up front. Then there's Nigel de Jong of course. We have enough solid players just not so much 'world class' at the moment. I doubt we'll get far at the WC with our current selection, but if Louis can make the best of it we might surprise.

RVP's goal record is amazing. Imagine it with a fucking good midfield supporting him.

Schmeichel is out of contract at the end of the season isn't he? If he was willing, he'd be a great keeper for us to replace Brad Jones with.

He wouldn't settle with that. Finally managed to get ahead of the other keepers on the national team because he's the only first choice keeper at club level. Anders Lindegaard is the other option we have... Can't see him going for a backup position.

Well at least Hoddle and Dixon offer some tactical insight into why we are playing shit, although it is obvious as daylight, as several posters have all reached the same conclusions.

Henderson for me shows why he isn't an international midfielder, I don't think he has the nous in my opinion. I know a lot of people here love him but not for me.

Rated him this season. And I wouldn't judge him from his performances in this England team.

I sort of agree. I doubt he'll get to he point where he feels comfortable enough to play his natural game at international level, and even if he could, the chances of the FA appointing a coach that would allow him to do that are slim to none.

We can see exactly what he offers in the right setup, but if we're honest, that's a setup the dinosaurs of the FA would never risk as a long term vision.

The lad is going from a high pressing high intensity Liverpool formation to a static shit one with no runners, the leagues in form striker out wide and no fucker in the box.

Henderson is the type of player that flourishes in a specific role he's never going to be the type to play in a midfield two with the instructions of ''do stuff''. Have him pressing high and the match will change.

Wenger had a similar insight into Cesc's situation last summer too.

He's best mates with everyone, even if they leave the club (except Clichy).

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/mar/05/liverpool-champions-league-financial-fair-play

Liverpool and other clubs such as Monaco who are not playing in Europe this season will not have to pass Uefa's break-even rule in order to take part in the next Champions League campaign, it has been confirmed. Only the 237 clubs who took part in this season's Champions League and Europa League are currently being assessed.

This is great to hear, but I'm not sure it's the best time to post this mid England match :p
