Franchises that definitely need a reboot

Perfect Dark: Keep it first person but play up the spy espionage aspect as much if not more than the "shooter" aspect. Gadgets, some stealth gameplay, disguises, hacking etc. "Cyberpunk 007 with breasts" is basically what it should be. It would set it apart from the "frag fest" shooters on the market.

Strider: i would love to see Itsuno's team that worked on DMC4 take this one on. Combat should be fast paced with lots of platforming like the old games. Bring back the composer who did the Music for the arcade/Sega Genesis versions

Fable: Next gen i would like to just see a fresh start with the series. Peter is gone now, and it would be interesting to see what Lionhead could do with the IP without his influence.

Zelda

Galaxy team

Yeah, I know, SS was a reboot, but damn. This series needs VA. It needs less collectathons. It needs something.

Was it? There were some definite changes, like upgrading items in the shop, the more linear overworld and well told story portions. But it basically had 90% of the core mechanics of previous 3D games. People seem to forget Twilight Princess (and of course Wind Waker) had its own annoying collectathons at the beginning and near the end.

I'll enjoy seeing the series receive a proper reboot, and hopefully break away from the series staples now. Of course, I'd be happy revisiting 2D as well, so long as there are enough new mechanics and ideas introduced.

God of War and Resident Evil have both been mentioned plenty of time I see. While I love both franchises and I can't wait to play RE6 on PC and as GOW: Ascension later this month, it seems that the developers have hit a brick wall with both titles when it comes to the story. A reboot for both series sounds about right.

I would like to add Mass Effect and Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic to that list. Bioware's talent lies in creating awesome worlds that set the stage for epic storylines, and then ruin them in subsequent disappointing sequels that never manage to flesh these worlds and universes out. I really would love to see another studio produce a Star Wars game in the same Universe as KotoR with modern day graphics and all the fancy stuff. No need to make it an online whatever game either. But who am I kidding, we all know EA would never allow it and we'd be stuck with endless shitty sequels anyway. :'(

Just not made by EA. It should be made by a company that does great games based on cartoons, not one that will have an online pass and microtransactions.

FF for sure, they just need to start all over, go back to the basics, not necessarily the old school combat but just overall, You know what I would love to see them do, FF 12 world and combat next gen, I want to see Ninja, Fighter, Red Mage etc... in open world.

- Spyro the Dragon
- Insomniac Games or any other company that can get it right
- I haven't played the Legend series but I don't want to play as anyone but Spyro

Get on it SSM. I remember playing this game on a demo disk when I got my PS2. Had my mom pick this game up after work because it was so munch fun.

Resident Evil/Silent Hill 2
-Both for sure, personally it's sad that these two series have gone the direction they have. They were both among my favorite PS1/PS2/GC franchises and it hurts to see them in their current condition.

For Silent Hill, it's been irrelevant to me ever since it went next-gen (Although I did enjoy shattered Memories... was that a reboot?), and I really don't know what's up with Konami handing this off to different developers, but everything about this games made them unique form most top tier games. The music was implemented wonderfully in the game, and really added to the atmosphere. It's not about how grotesque the monsters look, but the build-up to those encounters, and that's what I feel has been missing from Survival Horror games.

Also, while I only played Fatal Frame 2 (and Loved it), whatever happened to that franchise, heard 3 was great as well....

ARGHH, now I want a good Survival Horror game (And I have no faith in EA with Dead Space)

Amazing game, but I don't know that it needs a reboot so much as it needs an update of any sort. It was just the one game.
