I agree that the petition has grounds to exist. People feel misled, and if they pre-ordered in digital, then it probably feels to them more like a betray of trust. I also understand that some may have just pre-ordered or bought day-1 just to support the developer company going against a DEI-infested industry, so to those it could be purely a matter of principle rather than spoiling a game they wouldn't play normally anyway.
Which, by the way, never works out -- don't do this, people! Companies want to make profit and are seldom your friends; even with well intended developers and enthusiasts in their personnel, there's so much more crap and ass-backwards factors involved with the global publishing of a game that nothing "radically pure" can survive.
Hopefully,
a) more explanation will be given about the baffling decision (intended artistic vision, realized at the last possible moment is not convincing),
b) options will be given to have the old models and gore level.

I am certainly not saying it should be ignored, that was not my intent, I am merely saying that the way I read it is not that they were putting a bounty on their head, they wanted them cancelled. It can be read either way, kinda like what people on here and Grummz himself keep saying 'but they said it would be released uncensored' (although not nearly as serious of course, but people are still getting that wrong, he means no difference between region versions, no version is censored more than any other so no green blood for Germany, no pixelisation for Japan as I have already said). Like I said, maybe I'm wrong and the original intent truly was to put a hit out on him I just read it more as cancel him not kill him.

This is the annoying thing about all this, going forward we may only get censored games from this dev when working with Sony (no skin showing, no gore) as they may (between Sony/ShiftUp) decide it just isn't worth the backlash each time they make a game. This is Shift Up's first console game (and has signed an official second party developer contract) and they have had controversy after controversy thrown at them from both sides (woke and horny). Luckily its a really good game and is getting great reviews and so far great sales which will at least please Sony.

The Physical Disk has the "original" costume.
The reason they "changed" it is because the costume was always supposed to have lace underwear, the gold master didnt have the textures for the lace.

Appeasing woke people brings them exactly zero additional sales, they already would never touch this, at least not admit it inside their bubbles or publicly on their social media dumps. Then the probably influenced or just too late artists have their version in the patched game and the horny boys can have the slightly more revealing outfits they prefer, for science. It might have been an accident, but unlike the hard Rs having the advertised models is no big or even controversial ask if you are a dev that is truthfully not afraid to do sexy stuff. These tactics aren't going to work because the message can be succinctly boiled down to "comply with our demands or suffer the consequences."
They have less way power and popular support than they think they have. Its a big enough contingent to support drama clicks, especially when bigger streamers are too scared of alienating their own audiences by making an actual principled stand, but without stuff like ESG scores putting a heavy thumb on the scales they are easy to ignore.
