No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.
Yeah I'm waiting for the second season to fully air before I watch it lol
That’s smart… I wish I had done that. Not a spoiler, but my very general assessment so far:

It’s SO GOOD!!!

Yeah I'm tempted to start watching weekly

I'll be doing that for Daredevil Born Again and Welcome To Derry
Is Daredevil BA supposed to be any good? I kind of assumed it was gonna be a standard Marvel show (and tbh I’m pretty sick of super heroes these days).

But I loved Penguin, so I’ve been proven wrong before lol

It's a sequel to the Netflix Daredevil Show and it's Hard R

I can't wait and I love The Penguin too

Me and my dad underway to my brother's; who'll turn 40 today.

Only 2+ hours left lol.

nice beads.

happy bday to your bro

played some more Forza. tried doing manual gears and think i got the hang of it. upshifting is not a problem but downshifting is awkward. i'd love a gear stick to play this with so i could just snap it into whatever gear instead of having to press the button multiple times.

finished 14th :( but whatever. it's more fun doing manual but i need practice.

What do these numbers have in common? 1 3 5 8 9 3000 4000 4184 490004340391030

There’s nothing “mysterious” about them in a traditional number‐theoretic sense – they’re famous for being record‐holders in a quirky “word‐play” process. Here’s the idea:

  1. The “Four is the magic number” process:
For any positive integer, write its name in English (ignoring spaces and hyphens) and count how many letters it has. Then repeat with that number. For example, starting with 1:
    • 1 is written “one” (3 letters)
    • 3 is “three” (5 letters)
    • 5 is “five” (4 letters)
    • 4 is “four” (4 letters)
At that point you’re stuck because “four” has 4 letters. (In this “game” every number eventually ends up at 4.)
  2. Record‐holders:
For each positive integer you can ask: “How many steps does it take (starting from that number) to reach 4?” Some numbers take more steps than any smaller number. (A “step” is one application of “write out the number in words and count its letters”.) For example, even though 1 itself reaches 4 in a few steps, if you look at all numbers up to a certain point there will be “record‐setting” ones that require a strictly larger number of steps than any number before them.
  3. The list you gave:
    The numbers
    1, 3, 5, 8, 9, 3000, 4000, 4184, 490004340391030

are exactly the numbers that, when you apply this “letter‐count” process, take more steps to reach 4 than any smaller number does. (For instance, while many numbers quickly go to 4, “three thousand” takes longer – and no number smaller than 3000 takes that many steps. Then 4000 sets a new record, then 4184, and finally 490004340391030 beats them all.)

So, what do they have in common?
They are the “record‐holders” for the number of steps required to reach the fixed point 4 when you repeatedly replace a number by the number of letters in its English name.

This quirky property has been discussed in various puzzles and online posts about “four is the magic number.” It isn’t an arithmetic property in the usual sense but rather a property arising from the peculiarities of English number names.
I'll take its word.

I'm too dumb to ask serious questions.

what's the difference and how do you know it's v2?

and why is v2 better?
the new DualSense model comes with thicker trigger springs, and a modified piece of plastic near the analog sticks.

Hope that's better. And you can only check via a serial code on the back.

I spent a bunch of hours playing RDR2 yesterday. There is something so enjoyable about exploring the world. The visuals certainly help. I'm glad enough time has passed that I can max the graphics settings and still keep it close to 60fps at 4k. I'll fine tune some of the setting eventually to get a locked 60.

Though, I lost 2 side missions because of bullshit. One: my horse ran into a tree and the character I was escorting bailed. Two: I galloped a little too fast in town and same thing. I miss the freedom of the older rockstar games but that's all right. The atmosphere is one in which I wish to spend more time so I will probably play a ton today too.

i wish. just reckless.
I need to buy a bike now that I live in a big(ish) city. I want one that is super lightweight so I can haul it up and down the stairs in my apartment. I know this is going to run me a few thousand and it feels irresponsible but it won't be when the weather is nice enough that it can be my primary mode of transport in the city.

I just did my month end financial review and I felt at first like I am so far behind but really my retirement accounts are ahead of where most guidance says. I am a lot more skeptical of those types of things because they usually assume social security will still exist when I go to retire. I am planning on it not and I am uber conservative in my projections. So, I am ahead according to the common guidance but behind based on my guidance. I think I just need to make more money.

at least it sounds like you're responsible with money.

i've been paying into retirement pension but don't even think about because it's so far away. i don't know what would happen if i moved jobs. i've still got another 35 years or something left before i can retire. well i think i could retire in ~20 years but i doubt it. i'll probably be dead long before i hit 50

fuck. i literally still have another life time left before i can retire :messenger_tears_of_joy:

in fact it's slightly longer.

i forgot what age i was there for a second.

33.5 years old. 34.5 years to go

god that's fucking depressing.
