I spent all week playing Ninja Gaiden Black offline on Series X (which it initally wouldn't let me do) and when I connected to the internet again it loaded an ancient save from the cloud and wrote over the newer save, so I have to start again. Guess what? You can't disable cloud saves

Fuck Xbox

That's all I have to say. Have a good weekend!

What about an auto save ?

Cloud saves suck ass on ps5 too.
I REFUNDED the ps+ last time because the interface of psn, cloud saves, what do I own and what not... was so terrible, it made me angry.
I just want to put the disk in and play

Same thing happened with Doom Eternal, and kept happening with Indiana Jones.

Wasn't able to do anything about Doom Eternal, and lost all save progress, but ended up copying the save files for Indiana Jones to a separate folder.

People like to act like there's nothing wrong with Xbox PC app though.

There was a time where I loaded the wrong save in dragon age origins where I didn’t have enough to defeat the archdemon and couldn’t go back, you know loading the wrong save happens, deleting a save file in ocarina of time was the ultimate fuck up someone could do back than.

I know it's annoying, but it's just one of those things you need to deal with to have access to great games like Hi-Fi Rush, Indiana Jones and Forza Horizon 5.
He’s getting mad about having the save of his gen 6 game getting overwritten by the cloud. What other modern system plays gen 6 disks?

Such an unstable os
For real. It's been awhile since I've had one but I bought my buddy's console (Series X/Elite Series 2/WD 1Tb expansion for $350) and downloading games is a nightmare.

It will immediately go to like 300-500 speed and then nosedive like a Stuka in Kursk before just stopping altogether. A minute may pass and it'll start back up but it's so damn annoying because all my games should have been downloaded by now but they aren't.

Steam I consistently get 300-500 download speeds, and on PSN while I can't see the actual speed it's downloading it downloads games much faster.

Other then that I played some New Vegas with FPS boost today, and I played like an hour of Avowed and man that game is generic.

Edit: Just so nobody says it's my network I have 2G down fiber and my issue seems common.

This happened to me with Starfield. I lost 20 hours of progress because Mictosoft sucks.

Its your fault for not paying attention when starting the game; the xbox gives you a very clearly prompt when syncing the data whether you want to use the current save or the laast save that was on the cloud.

So no, don't fuck the xbox.
You've already fucked yourself.

I actually had this happen with the Steam VR app. I started a new game in The 7th Guest and it overwrote the save I had in Steam on my PC.
So, fuck the Steam VR app.

Everyone lecturing OP for screwing up needs a lecture on bothering to read the thread.

He didn't skip over a prompt by mistake. The problem was replicated upon testing.

Never happened on my physical copy of Shining Force II on MegaDrive. Still holds my saves 30 years later.

The story of how a tiny battery that cost a few cents actually won over an internet infrastructure that is power hungry and cost millions of dollars.
