Going through HRDs list-- I think Im pretty much done with boom bap. Its become waaay more disposable for me than even pop, and for my tastes it just sounds so samey, that I have a hard time going back to some mid-tier boom bap shit. It has to have either craaazy samples or mindblowing rhymes for me to care, tbh. See Durag Dynasty. I thought it was dope, I discussed it here, I will prob never listen again.
Was mad inspired hanging out with my DJ fam (DJ KAZUKI we did Black N Yellow together Siddx knows him) Just was chopping shop and I realized I never did an RIP for Nate Dogg.. I think I refused to believe he was gone..... So I put it together today, and all I can say is it messed with me... Really has no artist's death touched me like him.. I can't explain it, because really the guy was pretty much ALWAYS dope, and had a sound that make even the wackest songs just ill... No offense to Pac or Biggie or L or anyone else but he was that guy for me..
anyways... peep it if you can

I won't lie, Nate's death is the only celebrity death that made me cry.
This mix kind of did too, nobody will ever do it better than him, good shit Ace.

Listened to it in the way in this morning and enjoyed it a lot so thanks for that. Made me miss him even more though.
Anyone peep the Nate Dogg mix?
Listened to it today, fucking great. Honestly, I didn't really know who he was back when he died and still haven't listened to enough of his work besides popular features so thanks for helping me delve a bit deeper.
I did. It's great. How Long Will They Mourn Me was a pretty nice way to end it.Anyone peep the Nate Dogg mix?

.
One of the few occasions when I listen to mixes/playlists.
Depending on where I go, it would be an iPod with nothing but classic rock/funk/etc. and other times it'd be someone's iPod on shuffle filled with top 40 hip-hop tracks of the past decade. i.e. Mercy would come on followed by Country Grammar.
Actually, yes. Perfect for a nice sunny day
Oh without a doubtwould you say it was perfect for a BBQ?
I think Finally Famous is that album for me. It's just easy listening for whenever, and the variety of songs on there is just excellent. Shame Big Sean doesn't like this album at all and Hall of Fame won't be the same. I don't know how to fill in this lane now that he's moving away from it.
