Trying to get hip from this thread and my friends recommendations. But ppl saying Jay the best rapper of all time breaks my lil tough guy heart

Pac is a unique case. He could rap the back of a cereal box and sound good. His voice, his delivery, and his ability to inject every syllable with emotion made him so easy to listen to despite not being all that strong lyrically. There is no doubt he is one of the greatest, anybody saying otherwise is fucking idiot. But in the discussion of greatest of all time, he lacks the lyrical ability to get that crown.

Ya man very well said. Pac rapped almost like from the pit of his gut, it was all emotion. I think that's really what I loved about him. Wish he was smarter and listened to his dad, shoulda quit that thug life bullshit =(

we need to define what ya'll mean when you say (x) is a classic though, is that
1) that album that me/everybody was bumping that summer when i was getting crazy pussy
2) a perfect album/i cant think of an area it could improve (lyrically/thematically/production/otherwise)
3) an album where the highs were so high and the lows so infrequent that's the only word i can think of that applies
4) an album not only vetted by time but moreso by influence
or a combination of them?

My simple definition of a classic album to me is one that I still listen to and enjoy 6 months after it has come out. I have a short attention span and very little patience for music. I get bored of most albums after a week. If half a year passes and I still enjoy your album, you've made a classic.

You guys just don't understand the genius of MGS4. Before I sold all my consoles, it was by far my favorite. Nothing that has come out has made me want to buy another console. I'll buy another console once MGS5 hits. Have fun with "generic Japanese game #12" and "generic unreal engine 3 game", since that is all that ever gets shat out.
