Gamestop Trade-Ins for Switch 2: $175 for Switch 1 OLED, $125 for Switch 1, $100 for Switch Lite

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

GAF, will you be trading in your Switch 1 to get a Switch 2?

Switch 2 is backwards compatible, including cartridges, so seems like a no-brainer to trade in or resell

May be best to look to sell off to friends or FB marketplace in case better deals are available…but very likely the selling prices take a deep dive after the full reveal tomorrow

I have a hackable switch so ain't no way I'm selling
This. $125 is a rip-off for a v1 Switch. Not that I ever trade-in my consoles anyway. I'm going to move my OG Switch dock to the living room and try to force myself to get back into RingFit Adventure to rage against the damage that middle age is doing to my health.

Definitely ditching this Lite unless the rumor of it can be used in games as a second screen or some shit.

Even then the lite is too small and so uncomfortable to play on compared to a steam deck oled.

I got Metroid prime and my hand started to cramp playing it on the lite.

I have all my Consoles dating back to the NES. I even bought an Atari a couple of years ago to have all the consoles.

Going to keep my oled Switch, mod it, overclock it, and replay Astral Chain at 60 fps.

and people still doubt that the Switch OLED was originally planned to be the often leaked/rumoured Switch Pro...

the new memory that could have supported twice the density aka 2x the VRAM, in combination with the Mariko X1 revision supporting way higher clock speeds at nearly the same power draw as the original Switch model, clearly show that the building blocks were right there but eventually abandoned by Nintendo (probably to not confuse casual users and to not further complicate development of games)

Since it's backwards compatible I'd do it, though over here in Aus we'll likely get less trade in value.

I'm going to keep my already modded OLED Switch and play through Astral Chain, because I did not realize the game ran so well when overclocked.

Everytime I have let go of old hardware I have later regretted it so I have no intention of letting my current Switch go, despite the Switch 2 being backwards compatible.

Unless they make a bunch of bangers exclusive to switch 2, I'll be keeping my modded OLED. Can't beat free games and overclocking for more performance 👌

Should I trade in my Xbox Series S yet or wait? I was going to do it today but I'm wondering if I wait, Gamestop might give a trade in bonus towards a switch 2? Or do they not typically do that?

Is it me, or does this seem like a lot of money? Not that I am the market for a switch, but I figured an OLED would be around $100

Mwahaha sold mine OLED a few months ago for 275€, which is more in donalds, and the guy was so kind to travel 50km come and go to where I live to a bar I was drinking in, he even got a free beer for the trouble, and we both were veeery happy about our business.

I love being right on time. 😎
