Garry's Mod has sold over a million copies

Sometime over the weekend Garry’s Mod surpassed one million sales!

I know this isn’t exactly Minecraft’s 10 million 2.9 million – but this is a pretty big deal for me considering this all started off as a tiny tiny modification about 6 years ago. This is more than I could have ever expected or wished for!

Even though my name is on the Mod there are a lot of people that have helped out over the years – and GMod wouldn’t be where it is now without them. Particularly Valve & Steam – which made Garry’s Mod technically feasible – namely Erik J, Alfred, Jason H and Mike D. There have been countless contributors to Garry’s Mod over the years – whether it be people directly editing the code, submitting bug reports and fixes, creating mods, movies, screenshots, comics. Far too many people for me to name here.

Here’s how we got here:

I did plan to release a big secret update I’ve been working on when we hit 1mil. But it’s not ready – you guys beat me to it. Anyway – thanks to everyone that’s contributed to Garry’s Mod – whether that be directly by dedicating your time to creating new content for other players or indirectly by playing and enjoying all that Garry’s Mod has to offer!

And yet I still don't own it for some reason.

Neither do I but I fooled around with it when it was free. It is a cool mod but I'm not creative enough to actually make something cool :p.

I think the reason why I've avoided the "game" is because it tends to go on sale alongside smaller indie games and so my money goes elsewhere, into the hands that need it more.

For me to purchase GMod it needs to show up as a Daily Deal.

If you don't know how or want to build stuff with Garry's Mod, you should just get it for the other gametypes available for multiplayer. I'm mainly talking about the Trouble in Terrorist Town gametype. Just imagine the board game Clue but with the Source engine. And what I mean about that is there are traitors with a bunch of innocents and it's the innocents job to weed out the traitors before the traitors kill everyone without being detected.

That's all I play Garry's Mod for anyway and I already put hundreds of hours in to it just for that game.

Anyway, this is great news. Although I thought it sold way more than that already >__<

People think that you have to be creative and make stuff in the sandbox, but nope.

That's prolly an eighth of the fun. The rest is popping in random servers and playing by their rules. PROP HUNT IS THE SHIT.

Mafia, fundamentally?

I like Garry's Mod, but I don't like that you have to pose characters using gravity gun. A bunch of sliders (like in XNALara) would be much more precise and easier to use.

RPG in Garrysmod is amazing! It's just fantastic... Really... Also survival! and prop hunt! Garrysmod is the gift that keeps on giving.
