I always thought this game looked interesting but I don't want to try it after wasting so much money on another game with similar mechanics. I wasted thousands on Marvel Contest of Champions. Chasing after 4star Champs, then 5 star and finally 6 star Champs. Then of course it wasn't enough when you finally popped a 5 or 6 star champ because 70% of the Champs sucked. And it just got worse as the game got older. Maybe about 20 Champs out of 100s of possible were worth a damn.So many hours later, not even 1 reply!

Genshin Impact |OT| Legend of Gacha: The Whale Waker (free-to-play action RPG)
Three things to get out of the way first: 1) You do not need to spend money to enjoy this game. In fact, here is a list of reasons why you shouldn't spend money on Genshin Impact. 2) When you first start wishing, only use the Beginners' banner for your first 20 wishes. If you don't do this...www.neogaf.com

Is this game worth playing? Is it a grind fest, pay to win? Or can you just pick up every now and then and go through a story?
I can’t devote all my time to one game, there’s too many to play![]()
The OST is by far one of the best aspects.

Same as Another Eden. I suspect Nintendo is not very enthusiastic about gacha on their platform.Yeah, well... and where the f**k is my promised Switch port?
uwu!Fuck this game and anyone that supports it![]()

GAF pretends that gacha doesn't exist, but in the real world the mobile gaming market is roughly 10 times the size of the console/PC gaming market by revenue and growing much faster. So many hours later, not even 1 reply!

Spotted the guy that never played the game. It's fine to not be interested in it, but to say Genshin 'isn't good' is hugely dishonest. It's got more polish than 80% of games out there.Lol, doesn't make the game good. Casinos IRL make tens of trillions a year, does that make their games good? Same deal.
Yeah, well... and where the f**k is my promised Switch port?
This not out on XBox then? Is it a timed exclusive for PlayStation?![]()
Same with xbox version, which sucks. Cause I would like to play it on my Series S instead of my old ass base ps4.
LegendOfKage thank you for the write-up. I’ll jump in and see what I’ve been missing. Much appreciated

F2P games used to require XBLG so Mihoyo never bothered porting it.....the game is supposed to be Free. This not out on XBox then? Is it a timed exclusive for PlayStation?
Abyss exists.Pay to win? It isn't. It's more pay to show off. Whales in Genshin kill bosses quickly while everyone else takes longer. That's about it. For a much more detailed explanation of how everything works, see the OT I made. You can find it in the communities forum.
I wont, because fak monetisationGAF pretends that gacha doesn't exist, but in the real world the mobile gaming market is roughly 10 times the size of the console/PC gaming market by revenue and growing much faster.
Genshin Impact has grossed over $3 billion worldwide or something insane like that. Yes, that's the revenue from one single game. It turns out we really do all have phones and we spend money on phone games. Don't tell GAF though.
Outside of some fringe event content and a single endgame mode, it's largely a casual game to appeal to the Zelda BotW crowd. There are certainly challenging spots and encounters and the game actually increases in difficulty as you progress (both new areas get tougher and the general strength of the enemies in the world increases mathematically), but for the most part it's a leisurely exploration/puzzle/light combat game. Don't be fooled by YouTubers that talk meta this and BiS that. It's completely unnecessary for 95% of the game.I've played like 30 mins of it it genuinely seems like it may be good bit I'm kinda put off with how easy it seems at first atleast.
