Angel Heart

This one starts out as noir detective story, but rapidly becomes a twisted psychological horror flick. What I love about it is the weird, brooding atmosphere created by the amazing imagery. Also great performances by Mickey Rourke and Robert De Niro in particular.

I just watched Death Wish 3 on betamax the other day.. it is pure awesome..

My memories of Betamax are when the tape of the secret of NIHM got stuck and I couldn't see the film, and it was one of my favorites! if we include animation the thread needs to add:
