Sony and Nintendo are both platform holders that know to make great games, and in the last six months, we have gotten a seemingly iterative follow up to their generation defining masterpieces from the previous generation. We got Sony follow up on God of War 2018 with Ragnarok and we had Nintendo follow up on Breath of the Wild with Tears of the Kingdom.

Both these games are expansions (storywise and gameplay wise) over their predecessors, and even reuse a lot of their predecessors to deliver a game thats almost bigger than necessary. But both are amazing games, which do you like more personally

I’ve only played the first few hours of Zelda and I can tell it’s the better game.

Ragnarok is one of the most overrated games I’ve ever played and this is coming from someone who enjoyed the one before enough to platinum it. Not that it’s a bad game but to me it felt like DLC more than anything else and don’t get me started on the story and awful finale.

Why are people so sensitive. Oh no, two games getting compared. How could we ever cope. Come on

God of War.

Looks to have superior combat, a more engaging story and superior graphics. All of which suit my gaming tastes.

Zelda is open world, with lots of puzzles and exploration. Less my style.

The horror. :|

So far easily ragnarok but I've barely played any further that 5 hrs in totk so that opinion could change ...

But in regards as to which one feels more of the same vs what brings more that'd definitely be ragnarok. So far

Tokt has more improvements for a sequel but i still prefer ragnarock as a game because combat is vastly better.

I have a feeling I’ll eventually vote for TotK on this. I loved Ragnarok but I enjoyed 2018’s story a lot more.

GOW Ragnarok was a fun time and in it's own right a pretty damn great game but this attempted debate/comparison is a joke, one is a generation defining masterpiece oozing with creativity and ingenuity.

The other is just more of the same without enough innovation to deserve even being mentioned in the same sentence as TOTK.

GOW Ragnarok is like a solid 8 and TOTK is a fucking 11.

Loved Ragnarok and will pick up TOTK some day. At the moment I have Origami King, Assasins Creed Odessey and Ghost of Tsushima to beat.

No idea when I'll get to TOTK.

i know we pretend like rebooted God Of War is not a collosal piece of shit here but common

This is like comparing a Marvel Film to an actual movie.

Didn't SMS officially comment saying there was no DLC in development? Also would be goofy to release DLC unless it directly leads into a new era for the series, there's nothing really left to do in the Norse Saga.

Erm no that's a bit off the mark man haha.

GOW Ragnarok is nowhere near as good as TOTK but let's not kid here, the GOW Reboot games are great for what they are, semi-linear cinematic tales which bring a whole new generation of GOW fans into the fray.

They're not the same as the original games and that's okay, I get people who dislike the new titles for that, but I wouldn't totally disregard these titles either, they're made with love & care and are still some of the best games PS has to offer.

I am not disregarding em per say.
I might be a bit baity through
New God Of War is there to be a postmodern summer blockbuster, something for marketing people to sell to the ones who confuse pretty for good.(not judging, consume enough shit my self)
And it is pretty good at that, but like it or not new Zelda games are actually important pieces of game medium
n last one is actually lives up to the hype first game had so

There is actually nothing wrong with threads like this, it's how you all respond which makes them ridiculous!

I've yet to play either but am excited to try both in the future, mate.

Need for Speed Unbound or Call of Duty MW2 which sequel do u prefer ?

Jesus, the level of validation that some ppl need over a game they like is so patetic.
You guys being overly sensitive is the real problem. Has nothing to do with validation. Its just discussion.

Its like comparing an SUV to a Sports car. A common occurance. No one would bat an eye. Eventhough they serve completely different purposes.
