Graphical Fidelity I Expect This Gen

Someone on reddit suggested that Decima would be a better fit for Marathon, a full SP game with that artstyle could have been dope.
Tbf a game like this should be easy to run for people with shitty pc i guess...(Like all the most famous multyplayer games).

But it really look lackluster.

yes. this is by design. remember destiny 1 came out in 2014 and was cross gen with PS3 and Xbox 360. The guys who made Halo 3 and Reach have long since sold their soul to the devil.

Expecting anything of value from Bungie is just pointless.

Of course it does. That was me mocking DF for giving Indy the best graphics of the year award. Game looks worse than some last gen games. Truly the Mario Kart World of this generation.
Sorry sarcasm is sometimes weird here. Because i never thought this game looked good at all..
 
So oblivion looks to be UE5 as rumored and kinda good even in these low res screenshots.

I'm having a discussion about ue5 in another topic, is the ray tracing solution in this engine as shit as people are telling me?

I clearly remember slimy praising how realistic some games looked and he wasn't talking about asset quality...

It's not that's bad per see, more like the fact it's a jack of all trades and thus can't really be finetuned like other implementations.

Software lumen is a software based ray tracing solution. Similar to something like Kingdom Come 2, Starfield etc. Hardware Lumen is real ray tracing that uses hardware RT cores in PS5, XSX and modern GPUs. It was heavy early in the UE5.1 days but has since been improved so much that it is now just as performant as Software Lumen on consoles. But you need to upgrade your game to 5.4 which not many devs want to do. Future games will run on 5.4.

Ray reconstruction would help with those reflections but I still think it looks great.

Who said MKW was the best looking game of the year? Strawman alert. We said it's a significant upgrade over MK8D. It's also open World, has double the player count, and runs at 1440p/60fps or 1080p/120fps. I think you're the only moaning faced git in the World that doesn't give that particular game props for the significant upgrade it is in almost every facet of rendering and all without using DLSS no less. Remember Nintendo could have just stuck to track racing and released a new game which would have amounted to 16 tracks of more MK8 DLC and ran it at 4k/60fps blowing all the GPU improvements on resolution (you know like you cry about on a daily basis?).
 
i hope they launch oblivion with a 30fps lock and crank up the detail with nanites and lumen , just go for max fidelity

Why not offer both. Modern engines are more than capable.

I finished my Uncharted 4 replay on the Pro. Wow just wow. Again that game doesn't get enough love like TLOU II, Horizon and RDR II get when talking about games from that era. Some of the environments, vistas and set pieces are still absolutely incredible looking today and some of the cut scenes with Elena's facial animation, the little nuances, glances, eye movements, lip quiver is still ahead of everyone else today.

I'm sure when AI takes over development, hand drawn animations will be one of the first things replaced by it which is a shame but if it can produce much more life like results I'm all for it. Animators can work on other things.

looks just like a different reshade lut filter....
screen space RT makes no sense. RT is all about off-screen light sources.. you know... like a sun, interacting with the scene.
I think thats what it actually is, this is not real RT. Someone just named their reshade filters that way.
 
Don't care what it is, it looks better than the vanilla version. When I eventually get a pc I will be playing it like that

That color/contrast correction actually is pretty good.
However bokeh blur is really terrible in forrest area. It literally blurs everything 50 meters away from character.
 
Oh my God it looks so good, kinda reminds me of Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart visuals, finally good lighting & PBR, very high resolution too, looks better than Ghost of Yotei.

I'm so getting it (the $500 bundle that is!)
