It looks very similar to ONI, in terms of movement; even the aiming cursor is kinda similar in the way it's projected.
Maybe this tech is what actually turned into ONI when they overhauled it to become an FPS.

Haha, just downloaded it and gave it a try.
There's 2 different builds as far as I can see. The one mentioned in OT, as well as the E3 2000 demo.

Man, it feels so weird playing it, after only being able to see it for so many years.
Also, Bungie sure loves to leave funny names/titles everywhere lol.

Even in the early days bungee was killing it with the skybox, it looks good for an early build. To this day they're still easily my favorite developer when it comes to creating good looking sky boxes.

This leak is huge man, possibly the biggest leak in gaming history. Apparently one of the moders 343 had sifting through the data got disgruntled because of lack of pay and dumped 20 years of halo 1 2 and 3 data. I love it i don't care about morality of it all if i can get great mods out of it.

343 is such a shit studio they deserve it and how Microsoft Treated the Halo franchise and Marty O'Donnell this is a big middle finger back from the community. I love it

Amazing engine for the time, looks attractive even today for its colors and skybox and concept design.

I kind of see in the game movement one of the reasons they maybe switched over to FPS. It's a grand "open world", but when the camera swings around so fast in third person it feels more like a game and less majestic. I imagine they could have still gotten the feel down with practice, but giving MC heavier movement and bringing the view in tight really focused the world in for players in the final game.
