As if these last 15 days weren't hard enough already. So hype
I was actually shocked at how bad that trailer was...especially considering how nicely directed the Locke cgi intro is.
This just felt like the editor didn't care at all. "THE KIDS WONT NOTICE THIS. THEY JUST WANT TO SEE EXPLOSIONS!"
Something tells me they saw the Black Ops 3 trailer and tried to emulate the frenetic cuts they do, and tried the same with Halo 5.
Just didn't splice as well.
I liked the story bits and theme they were going for but it was impossible for me to see what was going on in a lot of the shots or get any reference point.
Which is using all in-game assets, all the other cutscenes are all in-engine.
The Trailers are usually amazing, but definitely thought that was weak and cheesy. I like the Opera classical music stuff usually associated with Halo. This seems targeted at a younger audience. Very blah.
I'm pretty sure Frankie confirmed there will be 2 sequences using CGI, similar to what was done with Halo 4. I'm happy as long as cutscenes during the game are all in-game. I don't mind if the intro and outro are CGI.
Nathan Fillion is so overrated.
Everyone complaining about CGI and not realizing that all cutscenes are in-engine, also glad to see if only took two pages to get to a "this looks like a X360 game" comment.
ahhhh, now that's the epic scores that Halo is known for!Watch the latest Sprint episodes, classical opera isn't going anywhere.

CGI scenes use in-game assets, the CGI scene in this trailer is the intro.
RAW file - 315 MB
The first Osiris team cutscene I don't think is in engine but the rest areWow, if they're in-engine, then that's impressive. But it makes the cut to actual gameplay even more jarring. Gameplay looks nothing like the cutscenes.
Man, the campaign looks stellar.

I'm watching on a small laptop so maybe that's why it felt OK..
I think we can indirectly blame Activision for this.
"Jarring" is such an over used word, you're watching a trailer that jumps between different scenes without transitions... of course it is jarring. Hell jumping between gameplay to gameplay is jarring without transitions.
Maybe you should buy one!Trailer looks good! But too bad I don't have a Xbox One, oh well.
Neat.

Huh? Umm no its not bro. It's Jarring going from the cutscenes to the gameplay because there is a large gulf between the visuals. That doesn't make sense to you?
Fracking Brilliant Trailer!!
only 2 CGI trailers in the whole game, bit like Halo4, the intro to this trailer with Halsey is one and the other is the Locke team intro as confirmed by Frankie, all others are in-game![]()
You're talking about how it's jumping straight from pretty much the only CGI cutscene in the game to gameplay instantly......... of course that is jarring.
It also isn't representative of what it will be like in the game either. Every other cutscene is in-engine and the difference between the cutscenes and gameplay won't be nearly as large as the intro.
