Halo 5: Launch Gameplay Trailer

'gameplay trailer'

starts with cgi cutscenes

first actual gameplay 1:34 into trailer, ends at 2:00 into trailer

like............okay
More like a cgi trailer with a special guest appearance by some game play

In other news, I want to play this, but I realized my problem with the series, it feels likes PC game and is made to be played with a keyboard and mouse, not a controller

Can you elaborate on that? I'm really not sure what makes you say this.

My only gripe is a halo trailer doesn't need other band music to sell it. It's one of the best soundtracks of all time , this would work 1000 times better wrapped in the halo music .

Otherwise I can't wait to play it . Hoping it doesn't end on a cliffhanger .

Remember that nu metal band that got a song on Halo 2 or 3? I can't remember the name of the band but it definitely was a worse band than Muse.

It would be quite a feat if this game ended up being the best Halo since the first one! The FPS genre could really use a new great leap forward.

Also disliked choice of music. But it's whatever. I tried not to watch too much. I feel like I already know WAY TOO MUCH about the campaign and the story and the levels. Just 15 days left and we'll be playing for ourselves.

Sure, when I play a halo game, it reminds me of PC fps games. Especially the earlier games. The no ADS, the movement, everything felt like it should be WASD

If 343i offered mouse and keyboard support, I would rock it

Halo 5 plot synopsis leak:

Spartan: chief you betrayed us come with us so you don't steal our debut thunder

Chief: no I r have mission about doesn't afraid of aliens or anything.

*fights aliens and doesn't afraid of anything*

Spartan: chief I don't approve of this

Chief: I have mission control u can't stop. Watch out Spartan u r being betrayed by government man

*chief deflects government man knife*

Govt man: hisssss hisssss you may have deflected my betrayal knife but you won't stop me from getting the space oil hisssss hisssss

Spartan: whoaaaa chief you were right the whole time and didn't betray us who would have guessed that besides everybody

It's funny because way back I remember reading an article in a magazine explaining the diffculty bungie had tuning the controls for Halo to be perfect for a controller, so anyone feeling like it's suppose to be on keyboard might be playing wrong.

I definitely disagree with you on this. The movement of the early halo games is classically console. Think about how slow you change direction and move (and how you float when you jump). Its the polar opposite of a pc shooter like CS or quake. That way you can actually hit peoples heads when they move and jump with a console controller.

These days it does feel a bit more PC movement wise. But I don't think its changed that much since its roots - strafing left and right feels roughly the same as earlier editions and non sprint movement / jumping does as well (and 343 has added more bullet magnetism and ADS to compensate).

If Chief says a sentence with "job" in it, you know that it is a epic delivered line in my opinion. Trailer was good, but the music did not aligned with the scenes shown at the beginning.

Anyway, Knights Of Cydonia is an epic track.

Wow. I can't believe how picky some people are being over this trailer. Like holy crap, apparently you have nothing else important going on since you have the time to poo-poo a trailer with so much intensity.

For what it is, its really cool and gets the job done.

Edit: I wouldn't go posting some plot synopsis leak, joke or not, in any thread that isn't the spoiler thread.

Goddamn, that was awesome.

One thing I noticed in this and the back of the Halo 5 box was the use of the word 'beginning'. So Chief pursuit will span multiple games?

In the world of gaming there's always time to poo-poo. Some would say it's necessary.

What a weird statement to make. For much of the series, movement speed was incredibly slow. It would work perfectly well on PC, which it did for 2 games, but nothing about the game feels designed to play with a mouse and keyboard.

The hilarious part is that he has a Destiny avatar like that game doesn't play exactly the same way. There is far less autoaim in Halo 5, but Halo 4 had a ton.

Maybe not to you, but to me, it feels like it plays like a PC game. I'm sure I'm not the only person to go through that revelation while playing the game

I guess it depends on when you played the game and whether you understand why the movement speed was so slow and why the jumping and autoaim were the ways they are. Clearly you play Destiny, which has a lot more in common with Halo mechanics than I think you realize.

For your own sanity I recommend people DL the raw file in the OP much, much better that the YT one.

Just watched it on my big screen with surround and God Damm.

Very excited.

That's a pretty good trailer, if a bit light on actual gameplay. The choice of muse-ic (geddit?) is as subtle as my pun though. And the cutting was so and so.

I just need more Fillion in my life. One can never have enough.

What a ridiculous comment to make about THE FRANCHISE responsible for normalizing FPS controls on console...

Now the lack of ADS movement penalty means the should be on PC (as if that was an improvement to console shooting)... I've heard it all...
