Halo 5: Launch Gameplay Trailer

Not enough quick cuts out of 10.

In all seriousness, it's a good trailer. Picking Muse is a little strange since they haven't been relevant in a few years, but I like that song... The final scene with "No one's gonna take me alive" lyric in the background is a bit on the nose though.

Hello I'm buying this game because of the Muse inclusion.

(Mostly serious)

The target market has been achieved.

thanks-will update OP

edit:makes a MASSIVE difference

Please keep the actual video from the Xbox channel in the OP. The video he gave you isn't real 60fps, it's interpolated 60fps. If you repeatedly pause the video eventually it will stop on an interpolated frame where everything looks all smeared and blurry. It looks faster than actual 60fps and it can make your eyes feel weird.

Also it's a little disingenuous because the game's cutscenes are actually 30fps, it's not just an oversight by Xbox recording/uploading the video at half the framerate.

It's fitting cuz Halo isn't relevant either 😉

Locke is a boss.

I'm Team Chief all the way, but I like Locke. Nightfall showed he was a good dude who was extremely respected by those under his command. I think there is room for Locke in the series. Just don't kill off John 117. I need Chief until he's and old and retired king sitting on his throne using a brute hammer as a walking stick.

Seems theres a flashback again seeing as
Halsey has 2 arms
in the first bit of the trailer.
Also, wonder where Blue team is during "that" scene.
Locke catching up to chief

Finally, MC is fighting
Warden Eternal
? So what, he fights him, earns his respect and then they talk like in the other vid?

I hope 343 haven't shown their whole hand here. I hope the latest story element shown is the scene with chief and
locke
and its not too far into the campaign. I want jaw dropping moments.

I also get the feeling
palmer
is gonna die in this one, don't know why. She's not wearing her helmet whilst driving that pelican.

Muse + Halo is not a good combo, but that was a damn nice trailer.

Halo 5, Battlefront, CoD, Tomb Raider and concert tickets all to be purchased in the month, someone please keep me in your thoughts/prayers.

That is my hope as well... Just let the man walk away and enjoy the rest of life being a normal dude.

I see that more as prepping the way for Halo shows and movies - can't have a movie full of helmeted super-soldiers. Hollywood always finds reasons for heroes to remove their masks and helmets for expressions, star power and so the audience can more easily relate to them.

He's messing with you, Mr. Woofington. Don't believe his lies.

Here's what will probably be the actual theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caow03Aejnw
Can we have two themes?

Because.

Awesome trailer. The first time I watched it the music sounded weird, but the second look it kind of blend in the motion. Good job 343.

BTW, Battlefront already released the launch playlist. Where's Halo 5's?

I'm satisfactorily hyped, but holy shit take it easy with the quick cuts.

I understand that they don't want to give too much away, and probably want to convey , but I damn near had a seizure.

The marketing for this game is so weird. The difference in tone from the Oni commercial to this is staggering.

Feels like there's too many fingers in the pie at Microsoft and they can't decide how they want to sell this game

Or they want to widen the appeal? Games have multiple tones in different ads all the time. As the launch trailer it probably needed to be more high energy anyways.

I've heard hands in the pot before. Fingers in the pie though? That's a new one.

Movies too. Sometimes they focus on the action, other times on the comedy or romantic angles. Its a barrage meant to hit multiple targets.

I'm just glad this one didn't go the overly emotional Gears of War ad route. That well's been tapped too much.

Really? I feel they've been incredibly consistent with the marketing.

Made me think of this.

I will say I think this game is shaping up to be very special. Much more so than 4 for sure. But a part of me is still worried about how this game could turn out just like 4 did, which was by far the weakest halo game I've played.

I assure you it's an actual idiom,I have no idea where I picked it up along the way though. lol @ piegifs

I suppose, it just seems very mixed message to me. Is it some emotional adventure where Master Chief grieves the loss of Cortana and tries to put the pieces back together as everything he knew is falling apart around him? Or is it some rollicking kick ass Avengers type story where you are doing flips and crazy cinematography action scenes?

I guess it could be both, but that's an incredibly difficult line to cross that little to no games have done well.

Fans get The Sprint, #HuntTheTruth and ONI Propaganda...

...casuals get Muse.

Sounds about right...

I'll give 343 this, they are fucking great at making hype trailers. That was awesome.

I think they are pretty darn great at making games as well. I loved every bit of Halo 4, but this looks leaps and bounds better. You can tell they busted their asses trying to take it to the next level with this one.
