Halo 5: Launch Gameplay Trailer

At least the Muse track isn't in the game...

I really wonder if Marty actually wanted / had anything to do with that Breaking Benjamin and Incubus track making their way into Halo 2.

Ehh...I...I like the original trailer with the Muse score better, it has more of a kick to it.

I remember this being discussed in the Halo 2 Anniversary ViDoc. At least the appearances of John Mayer and Steve Vai. Can't recall if BB and Incubus were mentioned, but I seem to recall something.
 
I'm curious about the Warden in this trailer. At E3 he shows some modicum of support for Chief. In a recent trailer snippet Chief lowers his gun when confronted by the Warden.

I wonder why they were fighting in the trailer?
 
Whilst I was getting excited waiting to see which MUSE song kicked in, my girlfriend commented:

"This game is even more of a sausage fest with MUSE in"

Seriously though, I am sold on HALO 5 (assuming it works at launch), I will buy it day one after seeing that trailer.

What should I do to catch up on the story and lore? I have a great grasp of HALO 1-3 & ODST. Reach and 4+ is a bit iffy for me.

That trailer got my hyped. I haven't been this excited for a Halo game since Halo 3. Everything 343 is doing just seems to be working this time. I'm glad to see it after Halo 4, they've got some great people working there so I'm glad everything seems to be coming together for them this time.

Can't wait to spend this winter playing this game.

That's really all I remember from HALO 4 TBH so that's good. I didn't know if there was any crucial plot points that take place leading up to 5.

It's interesting that marketing tries to attract "different audiences" using that music, yet the game they will potentially purchase will have expertly crafted and iconic orchestral songs that help tell the story and convey meaning and emotion.

I have a hard time understanding marketing. I have actually never heard of Muse up until this morning so Im not familiar with their broader appeal, but I'm really curious if featuring these other artists actually impact sales or not. Would be interesting to see.
 
I don't even know why they decided on Muse when they could have just used Down WIth The Sickness by Disturbed which works perfectly with every quick cut montage video. They probably could have paid like a quarter of the cost for licensing.

EDIT: If I had a choice I'd go with "I Really Like You" off the new Carly Rae Jepsen album E-MO-TION (available now on iTunes).

Honestly if you watch the actual music video for Knights of Cydonia, you will feel less repulsed since it's 100% self aware and one of my favorite videos of all time:

I hope it doesn't take me 600 eons to get it out of a REQ pack.

I read here that it (or another? ODST armor) might be tied to beating MCC's ODST campaign on legendary...
