Has anyone kept up with watching the Pokemon Pocket Monsters television TV show?

Your math is a laugh considering how many lame duck episodes of Pokemon there are. I saw it not too long ago and they were doing some sort of costume battles. And the Pokemon created intricate designs with their attacks.

Remember when it used to be about becoming a Pokemon master?

I watched up to the point Ash lost in his first tournament. Charizard got bored or something and lost the battle for him. The show ended for me just like Ash's dreams of winning.

I think I stopped watching after Johto. A few years later they dropped all of the original voice actors in the US which sealed the shows demise.

I stopped watching constantly after Johto, got a few episodes here and there after that. Haven't seen a single episode since Battle Frontier I think.

Season 1 was good, I managed to sit through that awful Orange Islands season, and that was it.

Apparently if you use an extremely powerful electric attack on a flying type while you are riding it it somehow makes you invincible and able to do massive damage to psychic/rock types

That one sad Pikachu episode in the first season is an episode I'll always think about whenever the anime gets brought up. Other than that, the show just follows a simple, boring formula; filler, filler, gym battle, filler, filler, filler, gym battle.

Yeah, really they should have made the anime based on Pokémon Adventure (Special) and called it a day. That thing is like the JoJo's Bizzare Adventure of Pokemon.

I haven't followed it in forever. The last time I caught an episode while surfing channels, they did some silly stuff.

Yeah okay.

The series was over for me when Ash, Brock and Misty went their separate ways in EP 273, after finishing the Johto stuff.

Episode was full of flashbacks with sad music playing on top.

As a farewell present Misty gave Ash a handkerchief and Brock gave Ash a lunch pack with cutlery, which caused Ash to cry.

Ash then got trapped in Team Rocket pitfall trap by himself, which was full of smoke. Ash used the handkerchief to cover his mouth and the cutlery to climb out of the hole.

A great ep.

Gotta love those Pokemon Pokemon television television shows.

haha

Stopped watching after Orange Islands. Should have ended it there, tbh.

Ash is just gonna get all the badges from a region, and lose to the Elite 4. Rinse and repeat forever.

Came across all of the original series, Orange Islands, and the first two sub series of Johto a while back. Watching the Kanto and OI stuff was amazing, since that was what I watched as a kid, and talking about in school every week. Nostalgia overload. Still love the slightly adult humour in some of the episodes, which went right over my head as a child.

I saw a little of Johto too when it was aired, but by that point I didn't have Sky so couldn't keep up with it well. The amount of filler episodes is insane- nearly half are just the group sitting around a lake having lunch when something minor happens. Was this to give them time to create Gen 3?

Also, love how he never went back for Primate, Pidgeotto, dumps Charizard after spending ages getting him to take orders, etc. Though it sounds like he still uses the later, so that's something. Dumping all his previous gen Pokemon at the start of each new series always annoyed me too! Gotta sell those games though somehow I suppose.

Don't think I could watch anything more recent without a nostalgia attachment to them and the new voice actors, which was confirmed when B&W happened to be on the Disney channel at a hotel I was staying in.

Finally....

Just found out there are over 750 episodes now, I had no idea. That's like 50% more shows than Simpsons has, or 4x more if you only count the good episodes. I wonder if anyone has watched 'em all? I think I stopped at around the 100 mark. Anyone here still watch it?

750?
Back in my day there were, like...150 26 or so.

Also there are 15 movies apparently. I've only seen the first. How do they churn this stuff out so quickly

You make one a year, and they sort of add up after 15 years. Every year in July, they release a new one in Japan.

750?

You mean October 12, 1998, a month after the series started to air in the US? And less then two weeks after the games came out in the US? Well you were over that fad quickly.

And yes, the series started to air in the US a few weeks before the games released.

Everyone talking about ash.. SMH, whatever happened to the real stars of the show? Jessy and James. Are they still around?

I saw the second one in a cinema. That was when I realised I was way too old to watch Pokemon. The games are a different story but the anime has passed me by.

I just realize that for some of you, this is you Duck Tales, your Chip N Dale, your Turtles.

:(

Well, I had both. Loved all of the them when I was 6-7, and loved Pokémon when I was a bit older.

Yeah, me too.

Ash is a terrible, terrible role model for being a Pokemon trainer, and just a human being in general.

Ash repeatedly stops evolution. Ash is a theist.
