Exactly, last year was a great year for PS in comparison to releases on xbox. Had Helldivers 2, FF7 Rebirth, Stellar blade, Rise of the Ronin, Wukong, and Astrobot. Tons of GOTY contenders/winners. The xbox diehards keep spouting "but some of those aren't first party studios" and I'm sat here thinking why the hell would I care?
Can they make Druckmann leave to oversee and direct these TV shows? The guy clearly wants to get into Hollywood and Naughty Dog really needs someone who actually wants to make video games. Win-win.
The amount of times I've read PS5 has no games.
It honestly takes olympic level mental gymnastics to make that argument.
The flawed logic came to life after MS basically bought half the industry - the criteria for online list wars then norrowed to first party vs first party only.
Nothing else matters.
Therefore, even though I can play and enjoy the following:
VR games don't count - Those great immersive experiences with 100's games already in the library, completely unnavailable on Xbox, don't count.
3rd Party exclusives don't count - Exclusives are wrong now, so exclude FF7 Rebirth, FF16, Stellar blade, Rise of the Ronin, Silent hill 2 but still include Stalker 2.
Games from the East don't count - Phantom Blade 0, Infinity Nikki, ZZZ, honkai star rail, China Hero games etc, games unnavailable on Xbox, don't count.
Games also on PC don't count - Counts only for Xbox games also available on PC.
Games developed by a 3rd party don't count - Games like Arrow heads Helldivers 2 are excluded but Asobo Studios Flight simulator is included.
It's ridiculous to exclude so many games then turn and say you have no games.
It's a level of cope to the point of losing all objectivity. Preferring to create there own reality and rules for what should or shouldn't matter for other gamers.
Like you said why the hell should I care.
I just don't think the guy is a good director after Last of Us 2. And no, I have not only issues with the writing and pacing of the story. I think it's also worse in level, combat and encounter design aspects than the first. I was actually so disappointed with the game that it killed all the interest that I had left for Naughty Dog, which is a shame. The Jak & Daxter games (yes, even Jak 3), Uncharted 2 are really good and the first Last of Us is pretty solid.Druckmann literally just said the 100% opposite of what you are accusing him of. Weird some of the hate he gets on here.
I vote this the BEST GAF post of 2025 so far!!!
Your list seems pretty accurate and also just killed my hype for the rest of the rest of this gen for Sony. With that said I'll probably still end up buying at least a dozen games from that list.

Well, yeah, this is kinda why Sony invaded the living room in the first place.
Hardcore gamers never enjoy hearing it, but the harsh truth is that PlayStation was invented so that Sony could sell DVDs and Blu-Rays. The games were the Trojan horse, good in their own right, but never the main objective.
Outside of third party exclusives the list pretty much showed what will be most likely released for the next 3-4 years. Sony only has so many studios and if they are also personally remastering their games I can't see them making a lot of new IP. Plus it takes a 4-5 years to make a game these days.Heh, keep in mind that the list is what I think will be on the lower end of the spectrum, I think there is more on top of that. Plus there are many new IP being made that we have no clue about yet.

I'm just being extra annoying about the new IP and was only considering unannounced first party games so I guess the Bundell's game? , Barlog game, Housemarque, and Bend. It's a good amount from Sony for the next 3 yearsWell there's a lot of new IP or new to Sony IP in there from PlayStation Studios such as:
Jason Blundell's game
Wolverine
Marathon
Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet
Fairgame$
Cory Barlogs game (new IP)
Housemarque new IP
Bend new IP
Action sci-fi game from new studio spun-off from Bungie (Project Gummy Bear)
There could be more on top of that from studios such as Bluepoint and Media Molecule as well. All of the above have been in development for around 3-5 years, give or take.
When it comes to Sony, one can not ignore XDEV either as they play a huge role in PlayStations output. SIE published new IP include:
Lost Soul Aside
Convallaria
Midnight Murder Club
Project Ooze
Physint
There will no doubt be more, but we can only speculate. That's on top of the mountain of sequels to existing IP. I don't know your personal tastes, but for me it's a buffet of content and I'll be eating very well
That's how his games come across to me. Good for him if it's not the case. I hope he'll make something cool in the future at some point. That's cool and that's your opinion of course. But what does any of that have to do with him only wanting to be a Hollywood Director and off videogames?
And here is me thinking, Playstation was invented as a addon for the SNES, but the deal with Nintendo went south, and so Sony said fuck it and rebuild it to be it's own console....Well, yeah, this is kinda why Sony invaded the living room in the first place.

Does Sony lose their license to shit up the Marvel Universe anytime soon?

The article is talking about Playstation IPs.Hasn't this always been the case? Sony is one of the bigger players in films and TV.
You are so right in the picture with everything you've stated. The amount of times I've read PS5 has no games.

couldnt hide their agenda in the end lolWhat kind of shill hit piece is this?
And this is the same reason why Microsoft joined the race, thinking that "Sony owning the living room" would somehow impact their computer business.
And the article is BS just in the headline structure alone. But keep jerking each other off.The article is talking about Playstation IPs.
The article is talking about Playstation IPs.
Remember when Xbox was like TV, TV, TV, TV, living room, kinnect, always online, tv... maybe games later, and people rightfully gave them shit about it?
I guess that is where Sony is now, well except no spybox, and kinnect.
Care nothing for "gaming shows" .
