And people have not been banned for saying far worse in other death threads. That's what makes GAF's sense of morality so funny, it varies so much depending on the popular opinion of said deceased. Heath Ledger died, and though he was just an actor known to abuse drugs and alcohol, don't make a single joke or say a negative word! He's The Joker dude!

I care that some actor died? Only thing to be sad about here is that some little girl will grow up not knowing her real father. And that was the point of my post, it shouldn't MATTER that we are talking about two "different" people. If jokes in these situations are bad, then all should be banned. If they aren't, then the gloves should come completely off.

So I just spoke to the reporter who did the story on Ledger's death. The reason they chose her is because she has always been our travelling entertainment reporter and she's been interviewing him and has spoken to him since he was 20. She told me it wasn't his time to die. When I asked her what she meant, she says he was very bitter. Apparantly he was in a phase of his life (one I know all too well) where he had alot of personal demons and he was noticeably bitter at life. She said that there were many things he needed to accomplish personally, not professionally.

I know it's cliche, and it's so hard to follow this, but it's so important to try and make each day count. I know I for one am guilty of being a bitter fuck 90% of the day. It's just sad to think that when you die that side of yourself is how people may remember you.

No, I don't expect everyone to react the same to every single high-profile death. But that still doesn't negate the fact that banning people for joking about one of them (and not the other) wouldn't be a blatant act of hypocrisy.

The only reason I was laughing was because the person obviously cared about one death and would sneer at the other...proving the point that was made.

Asking why someone should be banned is no different than going "off topic" and saying someone should be banned. Where did I call anyone out for not banning the guy who posted the pic? All I asked is why he should be banned when other people haven't been banned for doing the same thing in death threads. And I didn't address any mod when I asked or make a topic about it as you suggested so yeah, I didn't really call anyone out on anything.

If you're so uptight about staying on topic, why not make a thread for yourself to wage war on people who ask a simple question in a thread instead of filling it with the same type of "off topic" replies you're griping about right now?
