Hey You People, What's Your Favorite Nintendo First Party Franchise?

For me, it's undoubtedly The Legend of Zelda. I just absolutely love the exploration in gameplay but more of the traditional sense than Breath of the Wild. I like more of the old school style where it's 2D.

If I had to go with a second favorite Nintendo franchise it is definitely Metroid. But oh my dear goddesses, it seems like we only get a new Metroid game every few years. The series is seriously neglected and who knows when we'll get the fourth game in the Prime series. I even like Other M.

So come on what's your favorite Nintendo franchise? What is your current favorite?

Pokemon by far.

Also really enjoy F zero, Zelda and the Mario rpgs.
Pokemon is definitely up there is one of Nintendo's best. I sometimes forget it is a Nintendo exclusive game and I guess that would be considered first party.

Metroid had the highest peaks by a long shot, close call with Zelda and Xenoblade. Mario will always be the brand goat to me though.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

Same with You, add mario kart for me.

I always feels like hard to choose which one is the best games from Nintendo, their games are top notch.

Mario Party

Minigames is a lot of fun to have with your family. No alternatives in sight either.

I am Become Bilbo Baggins
Has to be Super Mario, both 2D and 3D games.

There are a few reasons. The first is pure nostalgia. Super Mario bros on the NES was the first game I ever played. I also have so many good childhood memories playing Mario games, from the outstanding Mario Bros 3 to the revolutionary Mario 64.

As well as childhood memories, I also have very happy memories playing New Super Mario Bros with my son and wife when my son was young. His first console was a Wii and we spent many happy family evenings playing that.

It use to be Zelda. Minecraft Zelda bores me so Mario very clearly takes the cake now. Metroid could be up there depending how prime 4 shakes out.

And I secretly has a softspot for starfox/lylat wars.

I wish they'd build upon starfox adventures style and turn that into the new Zelda style game.

(Or just make good Zelda games again 🤷‍♂️)

I would pick Zelda but Mario is probably the most video game, video game that will ever exists. To me, It's keywords are creativity, fun and excitement!

Each new announcement and release makes the whole industry febrile. A Mario release rejuvenates and inspire every big and smaller gaming studios around the world.

Mark my words, Nintendo have been cooking its next 3D Mario for the switch 2 for a very long time now and when it gets announced, the whole world will feel the vibe. Astrobot was a cool appetizer but it's nothing compared to the OG.

For me it's between Mario and Zelda.

When I bought my Wii U and played NSMBU+Luigi I remember the feeling of enjoying a game designed solely for fun. No seriousness, just colourful designs and gameplay. It felt like a cleanser with everything else that was released around that time. and in general I think Mario as a franchise embodies that philosophy. He's the truest mascot.

Zelda, and I'm speaking about classic Zelda here, grabs me. Everything that Zelda was appeals to me. Dungeons, music, puzzles, items. BotW (haven't played TotK) didn't remotely scratch that same itch.

Truthfully it's hard not to think about the N64 games for either franchise. I consider that period of time the peak. If I had to choose M64 or OoT and MM to play forever, that's a difficult choice but I say Zelda.
