I personally enjoy the live shows more than the studio recorded episodes.

I like the pre-recorded ones, but the live audience adds an energy of performance that you don't always have in the studio eps. It's more entertaining than something like the Jupiter Ascending episode that devolved too heavily into just discussing the movie without any jokes.

These iPhone recorded episodes might be legible but are unlistenable to me. Kudos to them for putting them out there though. For as much flack as I'm sure they're getting over releasing them like this, I'm sure they would get much more for not having anything uploaded for several weeks.

I would also suggest the crowd isn't especially chatty - it's just that we're typically only getting stage mic pick-up on the recordings.

I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone unless you wanted to see it just for how bizarre it is. Its kinda like Dinosaurs, Beteljuice, and Pluto Nash all thrown in a blender.

The ADR was bad. The scene in his apt with the girl and they constantly went back and forth, I couldn't follow what they were talking about or what they're saying. It felt like it was a chance for the voice actor of Theodore to just riff and do impressions.

I just find they try a bit too hard with the live shows to be funny and it occasionally feels forced, the guests are sometimes the worst culprits. I don't mind them getting a bit more in depth talking about the films without joking constantly. Still, some of the better episodes are live, so it's not always a problem.

It's a damn shame this episode suffered the same audio problems. I'm sure I'll run out of podcasts and end up listening to them at work at some point anyway.

Both are still very funny episodes, just hard to listen to especially near the end.

I prefer studio episodes for the most part, though some of the live shows are incredible.

That's because Jupiter Ascending was not that bad. They struggled to force it into the same level of scrutiny as Sleeper Camp or TMNT 2.

Oh yeah for sure there was that aspect but I meant chatty as in they kept yelling shit and interrupting. I was probably projecting but I felt like Paul was getting frustrated with it.

That was a fucking great episode! I loved the part about the horror movie where the big American giant comes to Japan and steals a dead body. lol I wanna see that movie so badly.

I think the funniest part of the episode for me was something I couldn't help think of when they brought up every plan they make has to involve cars. I really want to see the part of the movies where someone tells them they can't use cars and them looking at the person just confused as fuck. "Well we can't do it. We're fucked."

Their Fast & Furious episodes are always so damn good.

I hope they follow through with the plan to revisit the old ones. It's funny how Tej (Luda) goes from bookie to mechanic to hacker to martial arts wizard over the course of the films.

Finished Maximum Overdrive. That was one of the more bizarre movies I've ever seen. That end title card was something - "oh yeah by the way aliens did this .. Welp, see ya!" My favorite part of the movie was seeing Billy the Kid and Bob Ollinger working together. Also it was fun when the one lady said 'eat my shorts' and in the next scene is Lisa Simpson (of course this movie was filmed before the Simpsons however)

The ending, was like they forgot to shoot an ending. And didn't have enough time to do one when they realized their mistake. So they stuck a title card in there.

Maximum Overdrive might be one of my favorite bad movies they've done. It's a genuinely hilarious and epic mess.

Watched Masters of the Universe a couple of days and enjoyed it as well. I hope the new ep is out tomorrow.

Really enjoyed the latest episode, back to the good old days of not being live. The part where June was saying her and Paul were in tears at the end made me piss myself, and when June thought they would be pulling her parents from the plane.

Watched Masters of the Universe last night. It wasn't *that* bad I didn't think - at least not compared to other HDTGM movies or comic book style movies. And I actually found the Skeletor performance kind of compelling. I hope June brings up Gwildor being disturbing. Also - Evil Lyn *drool*. Super hot. I didn't expect her to steal the show in a movie with a prime Courtney Cox in it.

Masters of the Universe's main issues were:

A) Dolph Lundgren
B) The very obvious budget issues

The almost complete lack of extras in that film is just astonishing.

Watching Perfect. So much junk thrusting. This scene with Jamie Lee Curtis and Travolta swinging their stuff at each other lasts like 2 minutes!

EDIT: Now watching Death Spa. This is easily one of the worst movies I've ever seen. None of it makes a lick of sense. It's basically just a random string of grisly and absurd deaths taking place in a labyrinthine, quasi-futuristic gym. The acting and sets remind me of porns.

EDIT 2: Just finished Lifeforce. Man the first 15 minutes or so was shaping up to be incredible. I really loved that premise. Reminded me of Blindsight which is a really good space horror book (that coincidentally involves vampires) where astronauts discover a colossal derelict spaceship. The rest of the movie sorta fell apart and could've used some heavy editing but all in all it wasn't that bad. There was some incredible visuals, make up work, and practical effects. Also, the space girl was mesmerizing. Beautiful and had a really interesting look.

Holy cow Hackers was a next level bonkers movie. Clearly made by people that had no familiarity with computers, networking, or the internet. The 90s thing of adding visual representation to computer's processing information is so ridiculous yet great. Also, I love how the main villain, who we're supposed to take serious, is a more over the top version of JP from Grandma's Boy. But putting all the crazy computer stuff aside, the craziest* part of the movie to me was at the very end when the FBI guy arrests ..*sigh* .. The Plague. So the FBI guy and his crew get on that plane and then wait until it gets up to cruising altitude and then they arrest him? So now they have to land in the Carribeans, cause I'm pretty sure that's where that guy told Lorraine Bracco they'd go, and then fly right back to New York.

*The other crazy part (unless we're to believe the Da Vinci man is a creation in some kind of 3d modeling program) is that The Plague paid an actor to act out millions of scenarios and lines of dialogue to prepare for how the program would play out.

I watched some past movies:

After Earth - Nice and boring. Bad acting and bad accents. Funny episode.
LOL - I agree with Chelsea, there were parts that were edited or cut out. Confusing movie.
Runaway - Crazy movie lol. Haven't listened to the episode yet.

Started watching Steel on the bus this morning. I love it. These are my favorite type of good bad movies. Cheesy mid-90s action. Lots of wet streets, steam, bombastic bad guys, complete misunderstanding of humans and cultures, etc. Also, I love that we're to believe his suit of armor is made of metal yet its so rubbery .. especially the face mask which bends and moves when he talks.

BTW am I alone in never having heard of this movie? I'm not a comic book guy per se but I have familiarity with them and the movies based on them and I don't recall hearing about this at all.

I didn't know it was a comic until recently. I just watched it as a kid because I thought it was cool. I haven't seen it since I was 10 or so. Really looking forward to it.

I watched Gooby last night. That face is really creepy. Going to listen to the episode today.

I've made a point to watch just about every HDTGM and that's on a short list of episode movies I refuse to watch (along with the Odd Life of Timothy Green and Tiptoes). This may sound like a June thing to say but it looks like the type of thing that would make me sick.
